Front Locking Hub, putting together using liquid gasket? (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

I have finished cleaning up and painting the locking hubs and I'm getting ready to put the front housing back together.

I have a full gasket kit and will be putting in new bearings.

Some people suggest using the paper gaskets only, and others say using liquid gasket on both sides of the gasket?

So Im curious what is the opinion of the people on here?

Another question, are people using locktight on all the bolts?

Having a clean mating surface is key..... no need for the liquid gasket.....

Strange. I use RTV and no paper gaskets for 2 reasons: 1) It is a lot easier if you need to make a field repair, & 2) it keeps water out better.

I use paper only. I cant say if that´s best as I haven´t tried alternatives, but I´ve had no problems and its as per the FSM.
