I'm about to throw some $ into the cruiser ('99) and need some advice. I have quite a bit of rattling, popping, and clunking coming from my front end. My guess is worn out bushings etc etc.

My LC has 290K; what are some basic replacement front end parts I should start with??

Thanks

I'm at around 180k and the guy at the tire shop said I couldn't pickup my '99 because the tie rods were so worn that it was a safety hazard. I could hear/feel a slight clunk but filed it under "I'll take care of that later". I guess later is now.

At this mileage (all street use), what other components are likely worn badly?

All of these were visibly worn out so they were replaced on mine at ~200K - I would guess previous owners do not take her off-road.

Front and rear endlinks (including the bushings)
Front and rear sway bar bushings
Front and rear OEM shocks (including the bushings)
Power steering bushings - huge impact on how the car handles.

All of the above are pretty easy and quick to do, except the power steering bushing but there are threads on how to do it, so it is very doable.
