Refreshing front suspension in a 00 LX470. Was planning on doing Freedom OR UCAs and replacing lower ball joints with 555 sankeis. I was under the impression the you couldn’t replace ball joints in OEM UCAs but see a 555 sankei kit for them on cruiser teq. Anyone installed these in the uppers? Worked well? How difficult was it? Also advice on steering rack? Have a small leak and wondering if best to replace or try and flush and add AT205 or something similar, heard AT205 can turn it into a solid steering axle lol

I've replaced the UCA ball joints on the OEM UCAs. It was pretty straight forward . . . . if you have access to a strong press. I couldn't get the ball joints to budge with the U style ball joint press. I had to take the UCA off and take it to work where we had a hydro pneumatic press. With that the removal and installation was super easy.

RE: steering rack leak
The AT205 is supposed to work but it depends on where the leak is. It certainly doesn't hurt . . .

Thanks, I’m probably gonna have a local shop here do it but they said there weren’t any instructions in alldata. Do they just press in/out like most bjs?

I can verify the above w/r factory. Mine is at the dealer (I know...) with lower ball joint showing its age. Only dearler option is replace control arm with big $$$.

not trusting dealers, I will try an indy front end shop to replace only ball joints.
