I have a ball and claw axle on a 66 lc. got lots of gunk all over brake shoes. pulled inner axle and thought there would be a seal but not. it has brass bushing. which seal is responsible for keeping diff oil and knuckle grease seperated. have oem manual ordered, thought someone might have had same problem? thanks

As far as I know, there is not a seal between the knuckle and the gear oil in the diff on the pre-68 front axle assemblies....just the bushing that you noted.


I have not ever tore one down and found a seal in there....only a bushing.
