I cannot respect someone that is so negative and respects no one on else like yourself. But let's break this down. It has a larger rear diff than the outgoing 5th gen, gx460 and Prado. It has the same drivetrain as the 300. So, what are we missing? Not taking Toyota's statement blindly. I have seen the preproduction vehicles on multiple occasions.

LOL we already established that the 250 is similar to the 300, except where they aren't.
They're not identical - otherwise they'd just be different trims of the 300. The 300 is also a Sequoia lite. I'm not sure that makes is bad or unworthy of the name if they decided to call it a Sequoia sport instead of a Land Cruiser.
Sincere apologies if caring about random online respect was even hinted at.
That locally any deviation from the marketing script is automatically considered as negative and even hate is not my responsibility and as such won't be answered.
That video seemed fair and realistic without negativity or hate. That others felt it was is also not my issue. But honesty would at least demand the reasons.

I am more a fan of reality and honesty than cultish allegiance, so there's that. But that some consider it a personal insult that others don't march in lock step is also not my responsibility.

Back on subject. I believe that the 250 series is a great replacement for a 100 series. It shares many components with the 300. But maybe a 200 is a better step up for some. Me personally I like the looks and the packaging of the 250 and the gx550. To me it’s enough leap from the 100 to justify. I miss certain aspects of the 2 100s I’ve owned dearly. Driven my fair share of 200s and it just wasn’t a big enough leap for the higher price for me. I will most likely own a 200 at some point just as I’ll own a 250 as well. Just depends on my needs at the time. OP I don’t think you can go wrong with either a 200 or 250 or gx550. All three are excellent choices.
If talking a lot means asking a simple straightforward question and not getting an answer then sure.
So let's then forget the video by an internet commentator that was deemed negative and just stick with your commentary on the internet which must be positive in comparison.
OP, the 200, 250 and GX are different vehicles so get whichever one you want. If looking for the closest to the 300 then it's the GX. if you want a more up to date but hybrid 4Runner then go with the 250.
That seems … surprisingly short, if that 211 includes the spare. Considering it’s wheelbase is like 7” longer than the LC (112” vs 119”, same as 110) but with all that ass hanging off the back.
Looks like the 130 is about 200-202" without the tire. Tire is probably about 12" wide and about 2" overlap with the bumper. Halfway between LC and Sequoia. Probably has more interior cargo volume than the Sequoia though! Sequoia might have been a lot nicer if it had moved the spare to the rear door and dropped the battery into the spare tire location to give a full cargo area.
True, yet still has a better departure angle than the new Landcruiser, and doesn’t compromise the break over angle.

LC100: 19 degrees
The biggest fault of the defender I’ve found so far is the brakes. They’re excellent, but require a minimum of a 19” wheel, so my fully loaded off road Defender rolls on 20s.

I honestly see the 250 LC launch as a moment we will look back on in future as a defining moment for the LC. LC Brand appeal seems stronger than ever, yes that alone is not enough for sales alone but it sure as hell seems like the 250 is going to be a great seller.
It will get hate from some people the same way the newer LC always gets hate with the addition of the Prado stuff thrown in now, but the reality is this new 250 LC is going to attract a younger generation that will have more new vehicles to buy in the future and that is what many brands are focusing on, millennials who are going to be the future buying power for brands for the next few decades, that's the reality some of us who are older may not like to admit but the world moves on.
You have to remember the older millennials are now in their early 40s...and they still easily have another 30+ years or more to buy cars and products and the younger ones even more.
This is happening with luxury vehicles now as well, those traditionally used to mainly focus on older owners but that has changed when they realized a lot of these older owners are buying their last vehicle and instead are focusing on younger well of people who are going to be buying more for longer.
This was actually one of the main focus groups from what I remember reading online when it came to the new Lexus GX, and without a doubt the same would apply to LC 250.
One could argue and say but wait isn't that what the 4runner is for? Well, the 4runner is a much less global product vs the LC and this isn't about the 4Runner anyway, that can still do what it does with its own design and own thing, like I said earlier 4runner owners seem like a loyal bunch.
Now if only this thing can actually go on sale already!!

The 18” steelie-style wheels are available on the base, 300 hp trim level. Most trim levels come with the 400 hp engine and have larger brakes.
It’s a trade-off. Modern trucks are getting much more powerful. The big brakes (380 mm) stop the Defender from 60 mph in 115 ft. which is sports car territory. There are people out there building kits to swap out the rear calipers, which apparently are the thing causing interference with 18” wheels.
the defender is pretty popular around here, sales are very strong for its price point.
I have heard mixed things regarding reliability. I personally know of two Land Rover owners who have had less issues in the past 5 years compared to someone who owns an LX 570 from a similar year, but I understand that is the exception and not the norm.
Just taking a look on the Land Rover forums makes you grateful for the small list of things us cruiser owners really need to ever worry about.
I seriously considered a Defender once but with the 250 coming to market, any thoughts of ever getting a defender are now out the window. Two very different vehicles I know construction wise and the defender drives beautifully but that's how it is for me.
Imagine if Toyota products weren't reliable, who would buy them? I am very impressed with Land Rover sales considering the nightmare stories we hear. To be fair they make good looking vehicles inside and out and they know how to make an owner feel special ( when driving or in the workshop service center lounge lol ).

@Phillyd2 you're never going to get anywhere with these people. They talk in circles, insult and rarely respond directly to any challenges - you'll get a laughing emoji and the same fantastical "the 300 and the 250 are the same vehicle" comment. That's all they have have (which is painfully transparent to most). Some of them work for the brand in some capacity, so an objective opinion is just out of the question.
