Just spoke with Spal and no avail with them .. what would be in your guys opinion the best next to spal ( that I have a top brand ) in terms of quality to look for ..?

Question for you guys .. just wanna verify that Contour fan shroud it's 27" x 20" since I was able to locate a Be Cool 27" X 18"

not totally convinced about this one .. but might be an option ..

I don't know why you aren't running another set of contour motors.

I can measure tonight if you need.

why not the fan motors that are made for the ford contour radiator cooling assembly that you have? as noted above.. did you look on the rock auto web site....? I'm sure others have the parts too.... if you plow through deep mud and water.....then you might as well expect to be replacing electrical motors at times. Of course my preference in the bigger picture is a belt driven OEM fan with OEM fan clutch that matches the engine used with custom fan shroud.

You have your setup out Johnny .?

I was not able to locate the motors on Rockauto web .. deep water and mud could be my bread and butter down here .. and I had the stock fan system, shroud, fan, fan clutch and was not enough to cool my 2H-TI and I want to extract every single pony from my engine .. so I did the jump to electrical which was working ok . .

So I see this opportunity to improve cooling capacity ( fan capacity ? ) that would allow me add more diesel and stay more in the gas when off roading ..

if that didn't work out I will just order another one .. or maybe pull the assembly and figure something with spal fans ..

1997 FORD CONTOUR 2.5L V6 Radiator Fan Motor | RockAuto

I see them for 97 model....$70Each

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_n...ias=aps&field-keywords=ford+contour+dual+fans

see some entire assemblies from amazon.

SPAL makes the best electric fans out there from what I've seen...excluding OEMs.

What may be available to you I don't know....but very seldom to do aftermarket parts dry up...with a 97 model vehicle at this point in time.

My setup is on my truck, keeping my engine cool. Has been for quite a while, since before I did the diesel conversion.

Back in the day when I was testing this... I bought a motor-craft (ford OEM) fan assembly and the two wiring pigtails that plug into the fans from Rock Auto for V6 Ford Contour. I would simply replace the fan motors or the entire assembly. For sure you can find the fan motors and the full assemblies still.

Off with the folks of Flex a Lite the closest they have it's this one ..

Reversible dual 12 1/8 inch X-Treme S-Blade electric fan

Elbert .. appreciate the time you took .. those motor you point from Rockauto are the price of the Dorman unit, are those the original came in the motorcraft assembly .?

Those are definitely not Dorman or at least the connector it's different .. and both are from different manufacturer ?

it is still possible to buy the Motorcraft assembly .?

I can't say for sure but sometimes a third party makes itemes and the OEM just stamps their name on it.. but Dorman is an aftermarket vendor and Motorcraft is the Ford OEM.

I don't know if the OEM motorcraft part is still available, many times the OEM inventory starts running out at the 20yr mark. I dont' think you want to buy the item from the Ford dealer...you might be able to find it on some parts web site or store.

Both motors on the Contour assemble are the same .. ?

guess all of these options are also the same, different brands with different prices but using the same motors .?

gonna pull that thing tomorrow and take a look on the motors .. dude I hate that, I made that installation with so much love, thought was forever .. !

:(

As Elbert said, dunking any kind of an electric motor in water repeatedly will cause issues unless it's sealed up tight.

you guys should know that I don't like river crossing if I have to do, well no other Choice .. and this one ( on the pic ) was radical deep and complicated .. so I was under water ( and all my engine bay for that matter ) several minutes with flow against me ..

again not normal .. but I'm just trying to get the best my pocket can pay ..

Hello folks ..

would you guys consider factory Ford fan assembly ( MasterCraft ) better quality than Dorman .?

Get a low mile factory fan assembly instead a dorman would be a wise move .?

I'm reading about Mark VIII Fan .. did you happen so know someone who try it on 60 rad .. maybe using a custom shroud ?

David

I would say that MasterCraft is better quality, yes, although I don't have a ton of personal experience.

I've not read of anyone with a Mark VIII fan in a 60.
