Oh dont encourage him, hes an 80 hater!!
He wont ever sell his 4 runner, hes just trying to get under our skins...

I know no one will believe it, but Jon did give the 80 series a compliment after driving mine in Moab. Of course my first thought was he was being sympathetic. All of us poor suckers having to deal with luxury and a truck that can off road pretty well. So Jon, did that heat warm you up after you freezing your butt off in that jeep on the way up to Moab?

1979 Toyota Landcruiser FJ55. Not to be confused with the more prevalent FJ40, which is a 2 door. This the 4 door version and is not very common. It does have some rust on the vehicle. Original 2F engine has been replace by about and 80 or 81 3F engine. Standard transmision, lights work, runs well. Recently had the carb rebuilt, oil changed, new filters, and timing checked. Rear lift gate glass raises and lowers nominally. Great candidate for restoration or just going out and having fun. In Las Cruces area. $4000 OBO. (806)433-6303.

2001 Tundra wheels:

I thought someone was looking for stock wheels with center caps. There is a set of four I know of for free if someone wants them. She just wants them gone.

I'll take 'em!

PM'd you, by the way I did not inspect them. they looked good as I walked by. She said she got new ones when she bought the truck.

There is also a set of cheby 8 lug 15x8 if anyone knows if someone can use them. I can check the bolt pattern and back spacing tomorrow if needed.

I have a friend here in Tejas looking for his first Cruiser; if he's interested, could one of you guys possibly take a closer look for him? I would appreciate it. I'll post back with his interest level and War Dept. approval level. :)

This one is in Deming, very close to Texas:

https://forum.ih8mud.com/nm-high-de...le-@-high-desert-cruisers-25.html#post4827819

It has a 4:1 Orion xfer case, front ARB locker with rear... Detroit(?) I forget.

One little ding on the left rear corner - shown in the picture.

The guy will probably drop to about $7,500.

The one on base looks like it might be mixed and matched because those doors are too old to be a 76 because thicker doors came out in 1975 and that is an 8/76 or newer hardtop because of the hardtop. Swapped on older doors? Also there is no emblems and he mentions diamond plate. I am thinking it may have rust and the new paint scares me. Just me thought, but from the picks it looks nice.

No turn signals on the fenders either. Good catch on the doors.

Thanks guys, I will pass all this on to my friend including the one for sale in Deming. Further inspection on hold until I hear back on his level of interest.

As I understand it, he is more interested in a daily driver / street truck than a wheeling rig, so a four-speed and front discs are probably more appealing to him than an Orion and lockers, but thanks for all leads and observations! he has been looking in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and there are a number of trucks that are over priced for what they are (Frankenrigs mostly). I am encouraging him to widen his search horizon to other states.

I could go look at it too, let me know if you want me to.
I did look at that one, it did seem to be hobbled together. I think that the one that Steve posted would be better for whoever is buying.
Either way, let me know.

I'll go drive it next time I get to Deming - hopefully next week. With the extras it has it is an excellent buy for someone who wants to build one, if it's in good shape.
