96 FZJ80 needs a home

Going to sell the 80.
Wife is just driving it with the kids not really what its built for.
96 FZJ80, 163K, white ext, tan int. loaded all stock except the 285/75 Bridgestone Dueler AT's.
It driven daily, very dependable, no problems out of her except for the egr.
Replaced the vacuum mod and no code since.
Replaced the throttle cable just because it all cracked.
I had compression test before I bought it at 131K and all 6 were from 155 -165.
Give this rig a good home and life on the trail.
Wife needs a mini now that our 2nd daughter is here.

offers???

Do you still try to make the meetings on the 1st thursdays of the month in GSO?
I'd like to see it if you make it to the Pizza pasta pollo. Can't remember, is she locked ?

Get her a 100 Series. We have 2 daughters and a 100 and they love it.

Need an FJ40

I can't match needatlc's performance in his earlier thread, but I am also a SoCal adult looking for a good match, I just have lower standards and a wallet to match so here goes:

Total budget needs to be less than $6k, so if you are out of state or north of LA I need to factor in shipping or other costs required to get it here.
Needs to fit in my garage so no SOA or huge body lifts, tractor tires, etc.
A little rust is ok, but gangrene is not. I don't have the tools or expertise to do body work and don't want to see the road anywhere but out the window.
I prefer a 350 SBC but am not going to turn down a good 1/2f
4 speed is a must, no three on the tree for me.
I would like power steering, lockers, and a full roll cage or any combination thereof.
Must have top, hard or soft, but soft is preferred. A bikini doesn't count!
I like the factory gauges, steering wheel, etc. but some improvements here are ok if they aren't overdone.

In this price range I don't expect perfection, but a good solid runner would be nice. I don't mind if there is work to be done, but it needs to run well. That is, after all, why I am buying this, to have a hobby and something to keep me out of the wife's way. Contact me at fred.steinhorst@gmail.com or PM me and I'll get back to you.

I think you meant "wantatlc" :) not "needatlc" (although, both are true) as I am the one with that ad you refer to.

anyway, I can give you a TON of URLs for resources of sites and pages to check if you want. I see about 3-5 a day. Some in this price range, but NONE that have had a 350 and or PS, lockers, full cage. I can even forward on to you some via email I have looked at but passed on.

I might even know of one up north (Sacremento area - cheap 125$ flights with SW Air to get there and drive home in 1 day) that has most of what you want, but I think it has 35's and is sprung over, so maybe a bit too tall - swap out to 33's and you might be good to go. the guy is hard to talk to and just does not want to take the time to answer questions, so he keeps floundering in selling his rig I have seen in like 3 times relisted.

let me know.

Any help is good. I am interested in anything you can offer. I have been looking through cars.com, craigslist, ebay, other cruiser sites that have classifieds and haven't found what I am looking for, at least nothing close by. Frustration level is high! Thanks again!

fatty - I sent you off 2 specific links I think you might like???? I have a slew of links I can/will send. I can also forward over emails. give me some time, I will get them to you.

though we both want rigs, maybe the karma of helping you will help me as I have to make up for a lot of bad crap in my past.

Excellent. The good thing is that we are shopping for different classes of rigs. I am amazed at what and extra $4k buys in this market. Wish I had the cash or patience to wait until I do.

I'll give you all the good karma you need!

Josh,

Will the truck make it to San Diego? How many miles on the 22re?

I'm sure it would make it to San Diego without any problems. I'd put rear shock on it first though. It'll do 85 MPH on flat road, but only about 65 MPH on inclines. It's got 179K on the odometer.

Looking for FZJ80 West Coast

Looking for a clean 80 on the west coast with factory lockers, the later the model the better. I plan on putting about a 3" lift on it and some 33's for family wheeling, camping and snow trips. Still using my 60 for the more brutal stuff.

I thought I put the word out here first, would really prefer buying one from an actual LC owner rather than look at used lots. Hey, maybe Pimp has one in is yard he forgot he owned :grinpimp:

PM me is anyone has some leads.

TIA,

TOY350

how clean are you looking for? immaculate? i have on that i bought from proffit's cruisers. it has been painted tan with blue rhino lining on the bottom half. when i got it i had the interior refurbished, so that isn't stock, but looks great. when i had the panels off i looked from the interior to see how much steel the body man had replaced and couldn't find any. it appears to be rust free, although i hesitate to say that on an fj60. i don't think there is a truly rust free 60 to be had. anyway-the interior is nice-carpets are a bit rough. i replaced the clutch, put in a new exhaust with a hi performance cat and a flowmaster muffler, the water pump and rad hoses have been replaced as they broke down the street from my house (engine didn't overheat). the t-case grenaded on my so i replaced it with a newer tranny and t-case that has approx 135k on them. the engine runs strong, though it has 225k on it. it has a bull bar that proffit's made, and a cor-ferr roof rack. it also has new alcans on the rear that smooth things out a bit. i am in southern idaho, but the cruiser is in green river, wy until this weekend. i was going to go get it and put some final touches on it and get it ready to sell. i am asking $4k. it is a nice cruiser that has tons of potential. let me know if you are interested.

Man......TN. is beautiful this time of year. 95 degrees in the shade with a nice thick 85% humidity! ;p

Well as far as what you could do with a boat.........well........you see..... :whoops: guess I didn't really think about that one

I guess you could pray for rain! Or be the only guy on your block with a boat in the middle of the freaking DESSERT!

;)
