Anyone running Flowtech block huggers on a FJ40 w/350 and stock steering? I just can't get them in next to the steering box. I've tried lifting the engine a little. I've removed the steering box, got the headers on, but now can't get the steering back in. In the picture the engine has been lifted a little.

Quickly running out of time before I have to move and would like to get this running first. Any advice to get this in, or where to get something that WILL fit is appreciated!

Thanks!

When I had a smallblock in my 40 the PO had a header that went around the steering box. And as far as I know blockhuggers are the tightest to the block/head headers available. That is what I have on my bigblock in my 40 to stay within the framerails. So you may have to look at a header specially designed for your application or engineer your own. By what I can see in the pic you have posted you have'nt installed the rest of the exhaust system. Better to install the proper headers now then have to sort out more problems later from a quick fix. I am sure someone will be able to chime in with a sorce for smallblock headers combined with stock steering.

Power steering would be great, but don't have the funds right now, and running short on time... but I do have a hammer, and since it already doesn't fit, why not?! -Thanks!
