I will be ordering one of these for my passenger side mirror once the blue fan clutch comes back into stock. @NLXTACY

Could you put a piece down from it to add a Cupholder finally?

JK... This is a cool piece. Now my flop will stop.

Where was this when I was at my local True Value Hardware store hunting down a threaded plumbing nipple? It worked great, by the way.

Can you now make an adapter for those of us that run the LS400 visors so that we can swing them to the side without breaking/damaging them? If I had a 3-D printer, I would be able to come up with something..it just needs to have a thicker base plate as to bring it down more to clear it rubbing. :meh:

Let me know what you need. I can 3D print all day. As long as it’s not bigger than 12”x12”x24” 😜

I tucked a Viagra under the carpet - mirrors don’t shake, transmission quit hunting gears, visors are stiff, generally everything ‘tightened up’.

If my motor ever acts up, I’m shoving 1 in the gas tank - that pill fixes everything!

o_O:p o_O

👌 This could be one more item for you to offer. Lot of guys running the LS400 visors but we can't swing them towards the door without possibly breaking the mounting pad/bracket.

Fixed my left (Driver's Side) outside mirror.

I had Floppy Mirror Syndrome, but to fix it, I had to undo my Shaky Mirror Syndrome fix I did 7 years ago (silicone caulk and slobber it all together).

So, I fixed my SMS by using the drill, wire, epoxy, and re-machine the slot fix.

Then I fixed my FMS by cutting new grooves in the post, making a tool to press it all together, then scratching the driver's door on the truck (fortunately didn't break the glass) by dropping the stack of parts over and over until I got the combination just right to press it all back together, and inserting the clip 90° to the direction it was.

Here's a tip:
Just buy the "fix" part from Absolute Wits' End (@NLXTACY ) because by the time I got done with buying a locking collar, cutting out one side to make a tool, then cutting the slots, dropping s*** all over, and cussing frequently, I figured out that I spent WAAAAYYY more time and money trying to do it my way vs if I would have just bought the damn fix-it part from him.

I probably have 8+ hours into doing this mirror fix since I had to do both.

Well these turned out to be fairly popular. First batch sold out so finished up another batch. Going to anodize.

How much?

Might have been discussed here. When you drill the holes, make sure the FM block it flush with the top. If not the spring will fully compress before your screws can go into the holes you drilled. Deeper is not better here.

Nice product. Now you will need to produce an upgraded triangle trim piece that comes off to access the bolts. It’s always a 50/50 gamble to get it off in one piece. At least with me.
I broke my original one so I bought a new $20 one then promptly broke it the next day. The fix was JB Welding a magnet onto the triangle pastic near where the original stud popped off. It comes off very easily now and holds very well. No shaking, vibration or annoying breaking when I have to remove it!

@NLXTACY, your mirror stud looks different than mine. Did you have to cut off the ears or anything? Mine has the sheared tabs and I went with the threaded pipe fix about 3 years ago and want to buy your fix kit as I couldn't ever get the mirror tight enough to stay put through car washes. I don't recall if I cut mine though or if it was needed.

@Dissent stud is the same but looks a little different because when the mirror compression spring pushed his shim retainer off it physically moved material and pushed it up. The mirror fix collar should have not problem going over this and there is still material for drilling the holes that catch the SHCS of the collar

When his is done it will look like the one in the website photos except the physically moved material will stick up a little proud above the collar.

I’m not trying to hate, but mine lasted about a month. I pulled it apart and figured it broke because of the other set of holes I drilled too low. It wasn’t the case. The aluminum casting is very porous and just broke. The two holes have to support a lot of tension from the spring. I even tried to Tig weld more meat on it, however I figured it wouldn’t work since it was cast.

I ended up using a long bolt and drilled a hole and rerouted the wires. I think a better option would be to make a hollow threaded rod with bus on each end. Then the wire and still be routed factory style.
