It was chilly up on the high knob fire tower this morning with quite a bit of snow up there. We are still running chains on our trucks to get up our driveway off union springs
I’m out for the 15th ride. I have not gotten my sliders done yet. And

Anyone know if second mountain is open from Long Run down? Looks like it from the reviews on On X, but some do make mention of private property at some point too.

Hoping to still make it at this point....what seemed like a simple project has turned into a rabbit hole of extended cooling system maintenance & alternator upgrade. Waiting for parts (yet again as I keep adding stuff to the list), so no work in the garage again until at least next weekend. My long list over in the "what are you working on" thread.
What do you guys think the trail will look like for this ride? Not sure what the typical snowfall and ice conditions are in that area. Wanting to take the wife and kids on a trip for Valentine’s Day and this would be awesome to get in on with you guys. We would be coming from Brandywine, MD so id hate to make the trip and the trail be inaccessible. Thanks and hope to meet up with you guys at some point.

The high temps in the area between now and then are projected to be in the 40s and 50s so I don't think snow or ice will be too big a factor. The low temps could mean some stuff will be slippery in the mornings, but hopefully won't make anything impassable.
Whatever the conditions are we'll all be in the same boat. It's almost a 3hr drive for a few of us, so if it turns out the trail is too slick for wheeling, we'll at least have a decent size convoy back east.
Looking forward to this run. Hope to see a lot of you there!
I will run part of the trail Feb 10-12 and give an update. The temps are warming up and we have rain this Friday.
How is it right now? I have a meeting out west Friday and thinking about taking the LX and running up to Flagpole.
It’s perfect. Some snow and ice covered patches in the trees and clear areas on hillsides and open road spots

I went up Union Springs a bit but it was pretty icy. I think if I had waited until later and it was warmer it would have been completely fine. I don’t think it would have been much of an issue if I took my time and was very carefully. I wanted a quick, chill Sunday run through a trail so didn’t have time or feel like getting in a situation where I may have to winch a bunch and take all day.
I went and messed around on the hill, then packed it in and went home.
I think after another week or two of warm weather and starting at 10AM we should be good to go.
I was wondering you had that silver 570 out today! My wife and I were in our black 200 as you were airing up. We were running a lil behind this morning - would’ve loved to have chatted!

Loved the 200! I imagined it was you and that you were running somewhere! Those chains would have made it a breeze getting through lol
