Aha!

I know exactly what that is. And yeah, no cabin filter would have helped us here (some weatherstrip might have, maybe...). I also know why the Nevada folks use dry bags for their luggage.

Do you guys think Woody would consider changing the name of the forum to IH8FeshFesh.com?

I hope someone comes up with a good solution to this. I'd really like a cabin filter.

The adbots would probably not approve.

The picture from that piece is on my desk right now, I'd post it but it's copyrighted. If you remember we were in my open top FJ40 on that trip, and hell yes everything was in dray bags. I also went through three K&N filters on that trip. The nice thing about the 40 is I just hosed it down inside and out when I got home.

Didn't finish working on my bumper till about 10 minutes ago. Wife said no feshfesh for me. So back to my ih8mud addiction.

I got a nearly identical non copyrighted version. It will take some digging to find it.

Feshfesh is my new favorite word.

:giggle:

So I think we are all after the same thing.

Will try to work out a system where there is a high pressure air source near the feshfesh filter that you can flip a switch and briefly flush the feshfesh out without removing the filter. A reverse feshfesh filter .

So a on the go feshfesh fragment filtration reduction device.

Will can call the device a fresh fesh filter.

Stay clean guys.

Now I giggle every time I hit the "refesh" button.

Let's rethink the snorkel idea, if one plugged the holes where air currently enters, made a mirror of the engine intake snorkel for the left side that plugged into a hole cut in either the top of cowl area near the A pillar or through the fender side and into cowl plenum, and put a cyclone on top it would be fairly trick.

OK, so somebody needs to come up with something really fast.
I had a bad dream last night in which a lot of dust came out of the left air vent and went to my face. Nothing out of the middle or right ones, just the left one, yes.

hahaha, this actually happened in Mohave. Got a face full of fine dust. I was of course not the lead :(

Ok guys first step completed and that was an access hole to the filter.

Noticed that the driver side had an area opened up so I traced that opening and reflected it to the passenger side closest to the air scoop for the blower.

Moved into the passenger side.

Masked it off drilled the corners and cut down the long sides with a disc cutter.

That's how close I am to the scoop.

Then ground it by hand and painted it with a clear coat for now.

Next I will apply a thick sponge sticky back tape around it so it seals the opening once the lid is back on in front of the windscreen.

Now to work out the filter ....

Use an old T-Shirt and a couple large hose clamps. That will get the majority and will last a while.
