Fj62 Fusible link question.

The connector on the wire loom that the fusible link plugs into seems to be pretty damaged. I circled it in red below. The clip isn't holding it in. Is there any reason I can't just connect the yellow cable going into this connection to the positive on the batter directly? Or is there a replacement connector i could put on?

That’s how they typically fry. Welcome to the club.
The metal spade connectors that join that plug monstrosity together develop resistance as they corrode, which creates heat, which melts the plug.

Replacements are available. Other members will chime in.

Whatever you do, make sure you have the correct gauge (colour) fusible link wire between the battery and your wiring harness.

in this specific situation & unique case shown in your above tech photos , Yes i have a all oem japan spec. parts repair solution too address the burned up parts ...

- it would be better as a whole here for you and your FJ62 , for you to take several , as in more then 3+ photos of the big-parts-picture here im every way ....

- you only show 1 small portion of the Fusible Links set up above ?


- so , ...

- 3 good over view photos straight / vertical up and down , then 1 from the LH side view and RH side view , them one nice rear engine bay facing one & 1 facing out towards the grill as well ....

- there is a small black little plastic box with a trap-door and hooks on either side of it . the junction box , flip open the trap door and photos of this as-it is now ...

- lastly how the whole fusible links attach to your B+ battery terminal as a whole here is very necessary to see clearly on my end ,,,,


- all the above are related to this burn-out electrically speaking , so knowing the root caused and also knowing what is still in good working order is what all the above translates into here ...........

if not tell me and i can try to explain differently , understanding the tech. on the FJ62 Fusible links set up can be as shifty topic to wrap ones head around ....

Can you post a photo of the engine bay showing where that fusible link lives?

Do you have one that is not working, or do you not have one at all?

I checked all the 3 contacts and I have continuity, wires look fine. I thought is was the issue, my alternator( that was tested) is not charging.
Checked all 3 fuses on the line, the plug on the back of the alternator is not cracked, going to keep looking but would like an extra one to keep in case of...

This is probably a stupid suggestion, but if the 2 round ended are available, could you possibly just buy 2 and sacrifice one and pin out the round one to replace this?

Male/Female Terminals inside might need to be replaced (un crimp and crimp new) to work with the nee corresponding connectors.

Hi ,

- i have all the oem Toyota Japan Spec. electrical service parts / Fusible Links wire & connector plugs on-hand here at me shop in order to assemble by the FSM correct your exact Fusible Links set-up above .....

.
- i also have that Odd-Unicorn Battery terminal side connector with the single black Primary wire coming out of its 3-pin terminals feeding the 3pin female connector that is part of the actual fusible links assy,

.
- the black wire will have the correct OEM Toyota Ring Terminal on its end same as you show , i have these battery side ones in NOS Part # format , so there not hand assembled by me , only the Fusible Links portion after it .....fyi

- i also will include the harness side Female Green Robot Connector and Extra Terminals for you to Refresh it as part of a overall correct and recommended approach path and step by steps you clearly need to do .....

this is a MUD PM parts topic , due to the fact i will need some more details regarding your truck ,

i do not have this on-hand assembled because i have not seen this variation before ?

however , as i discussed above last night , i do have all the correct oem toyota Japan spec. electrical service parts i see in your tech photos ,

photos photos Please , so i can confirm and verify all the correct color coded wires and links go to the correct terminal bays ....

- i cannot make out your 2 most recent pics above ? they have been posted differntly on your end then the super full size and very up close and technically personal ones from last night ....
