Anybody have interior pics of a factory FJ62 fuel tank where the fuel pump drops. Is there a baffle or fuel pump reservoir of sorts where the electric fuel pump sits.

Long story short, my tank was resealed by a prior shop and a new mechanic says no fuel is making its way to pump or sock due to the sealant possibly clogging a pathway.
Thanks!

Yes. There's a approx ~4x6" loaf-pan looking thing with a few small holes in each corner that the pump sits in. Unlikely for any kind of tank sealant to prevent fuel from getting to the pump with that setup unless the tank only had a gallon or so of fuel I'd reckon and whatever was used was REALLY thick stuff.

I just converted a new 60 carb tank to EFI style earlier today but didn't take any pics of inside it is already in the vehicle so too late unfortunately. There are some on this forum if you search through the tank conversion threads.

Time to pull the tank and see what is really going on inside.

Yeah - a prior shop reportedly had the FJ62 tank sealed by a radiator shop; don’t know if they gooped up pathways. I’m also suspecting the new fuel pump wire could be switched (you hear buzzing on the stethoscope).

Unfortunately, I’m not performing the work and it’s driving me crazy.

Looks like fuel comes through a conduit pipe rather, then sock picks up. This was a pic from a tank that was for sale.

That is one of the ways that fuel gets into the baffle area where the pump sits. I have a fuel tank that I'm working on right now, trying to get it cleaned up. I've poured a gallon of diesel into it, and every so often I swish it around, and I can confirm that diesel flows easily into that area from various openings in the baffle.
