@mblakec - for my rear heater I have all hoses intact except the hard lines off the firewall are missing flexible hoses 87255B & 87256B. I have no idea where they're supposed to connect up to so they can bring coolant in/out to the rear heater. Do you know? I wonder if PO did a sloppy delete. I purchased over the summer and shipped up to Boston from TN so guessing the PO had no need for rear heat. It would be great to get the rear heater pumping since the front heat isn't strong enough to warm the entire cabin at cold temps.

Hi @mabbet, I traced the connection to the rear heater supply return with the red and green lines. You’ll see one connects to a hard pipe by the motor and the other connects to a tee.
Another slightly related thought, I found my heater was barely putting out heat when I first got mine. After replacing the thermostat I get nice toasty heat. It wasn’t ever letting the motor warm up.

@mblakec Ok, that makes sense now. The PO removed the T pipe and replaced it with a U pipe. Do you happen to know the part # for the t pipe? One more question, why would the PO bypass the rear heat? I wonder if there is a clogged pipe so wasn't pumping heat. I will try to flush the rear lines today and see if water flows in/out. Thanks!
Yep, you just need 19 and 20. That’s nice that the T is still there.
Some people bypass the rear heater just so that they have less potential points of failure. I think that’s most likely. Good idea regardless to flush everything though.
@mblakec I flushed out the lines and now I know why he bypasses. The hardlines from the rear heater core are corroded and leaking. Part # 87208A. Did you have to replace that part as well?

Bummer. I didn’t have to replace my hard lines, so I haven’t tried sourcing them. Hopefully ToyotaMatt can get you straightened out.

@ToyotaMatt I'm getting 150mm too. It's dark here in Boston but i measured center to center on the bolt heads and shows 150 mm. See below.

Right hose - Toyota 8724590A27
Upper left - Toyota 8724514500 (cut to fit)
Lower left - I’m not sure on this one as I have rear heat and that one is different as a result.
I had trouble sourcing those hoses, so I ended up just cutting to fit. It's been a good winter with hot water flowing to the front and rear cores. Now, on to the starter... it never ends, but I wouldn't trade the old girl for anything else.
