I have a '69 BSA Victor and its starting procedure is about 5 steps including advancing the piston before kicking it. (It is a perfect DWI test.) I bet I could let 100 people try and start it and no one would be able to. Of course, they could just chuck it in the back of a pick up, too. lol
Any concepts you can share? Latching relay or something?Ours got stolen on a Sunday afternoon and after recovering it 8 months later I came up with a kill switch that requires resetting it each time after you shut the car off, figured I'd be too lazy after awhile to just flip a switch. I assumed if it deters a thief for more than a minute or so they would leave. But then again, if they want it, they will take it no matter what.
Saw this video. Should work and even gives you an indicator light option if you want.Any concepts you can share? Latching relay or something?

Nice. Thanks for posting that. Curious about the details from your incident. Did the thief force the door / ignition and drive away? This was my solution. I could have used just a toggle switch but figured I'd get lazy and stop using it. This needs to be reset each time you start the car and goes open when you turn the car off.

wishfull thinkin' gimme. i'd be willing to bet that any steal to order thief goes thru any thread of this ilk for every vehicle. yup, harsh realityHopefully there are no thieves stalking out thread, and learning our methods!
the way some guys know how to run a roll-off truck, it's pretty much throwing it in the backI don’t think anyone will be throwing a 60 series in the back of a truck…
I don't love killing the starter because it makes it obvious what the problem is to a thief, and it's not that hard to just push start it if it's a manual. If you kill spark or fuel they are now trying to decide if they troubleshoot an old car's spark/fuel issue while in the process of grand theft auto. I'm not a car thief, but it seems risky to me.Does having a kill switch wired to the starter interrupt the ECU at all?!? I've read it has to spend a short while relearning after being disconnected. But that isn't the case if you cut power to the starter...right?
I think I am good thats why i did it. But the internet could be wrong.
