There is a lexan hood on craigslist for 450 with fenders incorporated, worth a look.

I still have to figure out the brake reservoir no matter what hood.

Do you think I can cut down the reservoir and plastic weld it back together? Or should I try a remote reservoir?

I would not trust a plastic weld on something for stopping the vehicle. Why not go with a non ABS 80 master?

I would say go hydro boost but with electric steering i dont think you have a pump on it?

I wanted to keep all the brake parts Jeep for sizing. I have no idea if the 80 bore size is right for the JL/JT axles.

There no pump right now.

Pop it off and measure the dia. - search until you find smaller/flatter replacement

I think I'm going remote with the reservoir, the reservoir end is easy, it's how to adapt to the MC that's interesting. Do I try to adapt to the rubber grommets? Or take them out and adapt to the holes in the top of the MC? Can I just find some barbed fittings or plastic fittings and shove them in and connect to hose????

That assumes the wildwood MC. It's very close

Showcasing my total lack of real fabrications skills, here are my bumpers. I had a challenge with the bumpers. I didn't want 400 lbs worth of indestructible bumper front and rear. So, I found these at my local steel yard in the scrap rack. The front has D-rings attached straight to the frame using a threaded 1/4" plate I had SendCutSend make to match the bolt pattern of the D-ring mount came out pretty close. The bumper is sandwiched between the two and along for the ride. The rear is a bit more complex with brackets laser cut by SendCutSend. It's more elegant than robust at this point. I'm going to have to put recovery points on the underside of the frame in the rear.

Yes, both bumpers are essentially one use and throw them away. But, they serve the purpose and will make CHP happy for the safety inspection. And I'm going to have someone weld the ends of the bumpers closed at some point.

cap the back one and it would make you a good air storage tank for your compressor...

Is sendcutsend very exspensive? just wondering???

SendCutSend is very cheap for what they do. And then turn around is pretty quick - much faster than anyone locally. They allowed me to economically have parts built that I could either not have built, or would looked like crap. The laser cut stuff is just looks so good.

yes, the back could be an air tank, but it will require someone with better skills with aluminum than me.

Is it laser or plasma cut?

The site says water jet and laser. What get is always very clean - like water.

More cleaning up. I swapped the 90's out for straight fittings on the top of the front coilovers so they can run out the inside. Took forever to figure that out. that allows me to mount them to the cross over. However, they are down into the controller box. that's one problem. and, looking at the radiator relative to the hood line, it's probably too high. So, it's not going to work long term. But, it will get me through the next few weeks.

Also took off all the high voltage Anderson connectors I so carefully put on because they don't make sense any more that the charger has to run to the motors. Pictures of that when it's done.

Fenders and aprons arriving next week, so we'll get a much better look at what it looks like.

That rear bumper is a nice throwback to the big pipe bumpers from the 80’s :)
