Minor surface rust? R U F'ing kidding me ? Unless, it's ONLY in the doors, which can be replaced, but then you'll have to respray ..

I wouldn't go anywhere near that truck for that price.

You can tell by the overspray on the weather strip that it's been painted previously and the rust has erupted through it. The body is probably half Bondo.

That much rust in a DRY climate. I would stay very far away. There are so many FJ60-62s out there, don't put yourself through the hassle of starting with a truck that has major rust.

It clearly came from out of state. Mine has been here nearly all it's life and doesn't have any.

Edit: there's also a tan 60 with 180k with black wheels and BFG tires for sale. That truck was wholesaled from the dealership I work at. I was very interested in it but it has a ton of issues, so beware of that one as well.

~goes outside and hugs mine~

I still need to start a thread about it......I have pictures!

There are enough minor to no rust 60's in Az to make selling them an issue. The phrase " rust free" here doesn't peak interest. I cut up four complete chassis in the last ten years because I couldn't sell the parts. In '07 I advertised a complete damage free rolling chassis, rust free, 7 out of 10, interior for 250.00 and got zero response except from a guy in L.A that would buy it if I delivered for that. The three since then have
dents and dings or bad headliners, cracked grills and other minor things. After a few months of sitting around they were disassembled and sold as a lot to a certain Cruiser Yard. I will buy non running 60's with blown motors or wrecked for the axles and T-Case then get rid of the rest.
I have a couple chassis' now. The key is linking the west coast clean sheet metal with the east coast swiss cheese bodies owners

Looks like the exhaust had some serious work done...I bet it's a single piece up to the header now

:cautious:

Those doors are toast. my driver side looks the exact same, passenger isnt near as bad. Still havent quick figured out how you get rust there and only there though.

Then back to $2000 when the bubble bursts or gas goes back to $5.

:D

Think I'll post a question on his eBay ad about rust

We should all report it as "vehicle misrepresentation"

You definitely should. Also ask him about the original clear coat that's peeling. Don't think he realizes that truck did not come original with 2-stage paint. Lastly, ask him why you can't see the body seam on the drivers side. Hell, I might call him just to have some fun :)

I posted questions to him yesterday but he still hasn't replied

I really feel bad for the uninformed person that buys this truck only to discover it's a mess.:frown:
