Looking for running boards that go door to door for my 1977 FJ55. I have a lift so I am looking for something that will help me get in, but not interfere with my clearance (about 6" drop max). Anyone done this? If you have pics and model #s that would be terrific. :bounce:

tifgirl,

They make rock sliders that also have a step (like a running board) running along the side.

I would check out Iron Pig Off Road. If Lance doesn't have what you need, you could always make some by beefing up your rockers (into sliders) and then fabbing a tube running board.

Can we see some pictures of your Pig?

We've built sliders for Pigs in the past. If you're in VA, that makes it pretty easy for us to fab up something for you. Here are some shots of of some of the ones that we've built before. These particular sliders are grafted onto our replacement 3/16" rocker panel replacements.

We can also bring the sliders off of the frame, to make them slightly lower, and more "step like". I don't have any pics, but we've put plate across the top before also to make them a little more running-board-esque. This obviously is not a 55, but this is an example of our sliders coming off of the frame instead of the rocker.

This is an old thread, but I was thinking about a set of step rail/running board/ rock sliders for my 55. Now that the lift is on, it is definitely harder to get into and I have already ripped- ruined a good pair of shorts. The joys of being short. I have done a bit of google searching, but nothing that I have seen, I like. Anyone with photos of their set up?
