The Bear Wagon

Hello!

Taking the oppurtunity to introduce myself and the "Bear Wagon"
I bought this after talking to the original owner's son in far west texas... seems that they had the Wagon for years, and used it to guide deer hunts out of and as their expedition wagon for trips to Idaho to go hunting.

The hole in the hood is from a guided deer hunter shooting and his rifle not clearing (but the scope was clear.) the funny thing is, they put a bandaid over it when it happened. When I pressure washed it, you could see paint where the holes in the bandaid were, but the paint peeled in the shape of a bandaid.

The front bumper/ brush guard is from when the Dad tried to run over a black bear with the wagon, ended up hitting a tree and bending the front end up... thus "The Bear Wagon."

After hearing those stories, I had to have it regardless of condition.
It's spent its entire life within 60 miles of Alpine texas, which is essentiallly a desert.. thus there's only surface rust around, but everything made of plastic or rubber needs replacing... theirs not a single window guide or felt left... it rattles something awful driving it around.

It does have a 327 from a 1968 chevy truck? in it. I have replaced the water pump, and removed the fixed fan and put in an electric

Looks like there are a few Cruisers in the Czech Republic, eh?

How did you find your 55?

Here in the States, 1979 is the last year Pig you will see, although I have heard rumors of some 1980 Pigs running around.

What is the build date on your VIN plate?

Would a 2H equipped Pig be a HJ-55 (not BJ-55)?

What options do you have on your Pig? Power steering? Air conditioning?

More pictures are good!

Pablo,

The tires are 36 x 15.5 x 15 F-C Kevlars ??

Not sure on any specifics yet. Jason at CruiserYard found it and my dad made the deal etc.. I have a few pics to drool over right now. Have to get to West Texas to pick it up. I'll report back in a few weeks.
