Hello, I’m putting together a FJ45 1967, the engine is an F model 1967 as well. The air cleaner was not included with FJ when my client bought it, well, there was something that looks like the air cleaner, but it was big piece of rust and lots of holes :crybaby:, if you know what I mean.

We manage to get most of the parts we need, but for the air cleaner we found (or at least we were offered) 2 types, the dry type and the oil bath air cleaner. I know the difference between the 2 of those, what I don’t know is:

1. Which air cleaner the FJ45 I’m putting together use and
2. If I could use any one of those, if it will be the same.

So far we’ve not been able to find a dry type (in good condition), but we did find an oil bath type in good condition, but I’m not sure if we can use that on the FJ45.

Will it be the same using one or the other?

Thanks for your help.

Your FJ45 would have had the paper filter style that looked the picture below. All though there was any otpion for the oil bath in '67 I have never seen one in a 45. Oil baths were very common on '63 and older FJ40/45s . Toyota seems to have made the switch to mainly paper after that.

Thanks for the information, the part that I’ve looks like the one on your picture, but all rusty and damage. Unfortunately it didn’t have sticker with part number or whatever.

I asked about the oil bath because the guy that has it said it will work, but yeah, someone could said that just to sell it or get rid of it.

JP something's look odd on the pic you posted. the air inlet doesn't look right, I thought they are round? also the hold down should be a wing nut not the snap clips.
I have an oil bath assembly on my 65. stock.
