I too have a sunroof in my 82, but I will be removing it before I install a new headliner. Don't like those 80's mistakes.Overton, thank you for posting this thread in ‘13. I am refreshing my ‘78 and have purchased the CruiserCorps liner plus their Permatex adhesive.
I get the added joy of installing around a sunroof and internal bolts through the cap that are securing a home-built roof rack, both of which the original owner added way back in the day. Your instructions will guide my process.

I'm not sure what color the can is these days but anytime I've used 3M headliner adhesive, I've had no issues. I used this adhesive called Super 77 once and it was a massive failure within a couple days. Cruiser Corps sells Permatex Headliner and Carpet Adhesive for their headliner. They sell a lot of headliners so if they were getting complaints about this product, I assumed they would've axed it years ago. I just stick (no pun intended) with 3MFor those of you that have used the orange can 3M headliner spray, how has it held up? My headliner from Cruiser Corps will be here soon and just want to make sure I’m using an adhesive that will last.
Oops…I had the Permatex orange can in my head when I typed 3M.I'm not sure what color the can is these days but anytime I've used 3M headliner adhesive, I've had no issues. I used the permatex adhesive and it's been close to 5 years and holding very well still. Granted the fj40 is garaged most of the time and not out in the elements for some perspective. But I think it's really good nonethelessOops…I had the Permatex orange can in my head when I typed 3M.
