I had a visitor this morning. I got started prepping the frame. I pressure washed most of the mud out of it. I also gave this rust conver a try.

I'm really kinda digging this rust converter stuff it leaves the metal a nice black color that almost looks like paint but I guess the next question is how well I can paint over it.

I've changed courses on the diesel swap. The swap will be put on the back burner as I have decided to restore my 72 back to stockish. I do still have big plans for the diesel swap. The plan for the diesel swap tentatively is to: do a frame off resto and repair, powder coated pretty much everything, bedline floors and under carriage and lots of sound deadener.
Looks like a great project. I finished up my OM617 swap about a year ago and have really been enjoying it.
What kind of trans are you planning on doing? Power steering? Sorry if I missed it.

Planning on going with going with a h42 and also planning on going with Saginaw power steering setup.
