Front seat swap: FJ55 into FJ40? (1 Viewer)

First post...be gentle.
I've recently acquired a 72 FJ40 which has been well-used to say the least. It's currently a rock-crawler with 40" tires and ex-aircraft front seats (a common thing here in Alaska). I'd like to make it a little more family friendly and am looking at front seat options - would prefer a bench if possible.
I noticed a couple derelict FJ55s in a neighbor's field. I talked to him briefly and he mentioned he'd stripped most of the mechanical goodies out of them to keep his own 40 running but the interiors were still mostly intact.
I've searched the forums here but not seeing much about swapping front seats from a 55 into my 40.
Thoughts?

I would be interested in an FJ55 bench seat if one of them is still available?

I wonder if the 55 bench would be too wide for a 40...
And fix your bezel

Went over to the neighbor's on Sunday and cleared snow off the two 55s. One is completely empty inside, the other has two front seats, not a bench. They may be salvageable but are in pretty bad shape.

On the plus side I did find a set of 15x8 wheels and a jump seat which I'll be taking home at some point. We were snow-free for most of the winter here but then got dumped on this weekend so further exploration will have to wait until spring...

I wondered when someone would mention the bezel.
