I could get it from John in Utah and get it to some Vegas folks. Maybe meet in Mesquite NV?

Maybe we could get batons back to the South for the winter. I would be happy to take another run with one, especially when temps were not in the 100° range.

Actually there are 3. Red toolbox, tan toolbox, and briefcase. Have not read through thread to see who had them.

Somewhat inevitable after so long a time I suppose, and having to keep up with three different ones. They had a good run while they lasted, even if they never surface again. If they do and come back around, then so much the better.

And I'll be game to take another stint next year when my '71 FJ40 build is complete. When I had the briefcase it was in my '76 FJ40. Maybe one of the toolboxes will be around by then.

Eh, they had a good run when they were out east and down south where physical distance and season aren’t as big of an issue as they are out west. I was literally offering to drive 500 miles in any direction from SLC and still had the briefcase for 6 months.
And that offer’s still valid btw...for baton or just a beer

Granted the distances can be longer. I had all three at one time, and the farthest I had to drive for one of them was 200 miles. But I think the obvious larger problem is the number of 40 owners aware of the project or willing to drive for it. There are mud members with 40's all over Utah, all in less than a 500-mile radius from SLC, but it is difficult to get their attention with only the two threads in the 40 forum that have to do with the project. Having lived in both places extensively, I'm pretty sure that the density of 40 owners per population is greater in Utah and the mountain west than it is in Texas, though I have no way of proving it - just my own observations.
