Very nice.:) Is that a huge oil reservoir on the side.? Surprised they didn't put a filter on also.

HA:lol: its a grease fitting/tube............, you pack it with grease and the distributor shaft has a narrow "worm drive" type cut in it to disperse the grease

Looks good Sean. Interested in feed back once it's installed. Is this a F120 distributor? My two that should of had the F120 one was replaced with a 2F the other was striped and missing the distributor.

I also may have found someone local who is interested in doing the soft tops. I will try and get more of a commitment. If I can I guess Iwill try and track Phil down.

it is a 120, really pretty simple. the only part of the distributor that I'm concerned about is the vacuum advance diaphragm. it is non-serviceable and no longer available

I also have a possible line on some early OEM style top duplicated from an original in good shape. The producer is south of us but I don't want to throw info around until I get further along. One has already been made and it came out beautiful, but some alterations were made per the owners request so it is not exactly what I was looking for. more info to come

Could get lucky with diaphragm since it wasn't off a AZ (desert) cruiser. It looks like a pretty simple design but my only cruiser that still has a F120 is being sold.

I believe I know the top you are talking about. The quality looked good. It was just part of the design I didn't like. But it was a top for the early soft top which has a problem finding one that doesn't require a second mortgage.

I hadn't seen the pictures in a while so I just did a search and that top does really look nice. Design wasn't as far off as I remembered. Keep us up dated.

I know I saw it questioned in another thread somewhere, but has anyone come up with a close match for the infamous "dark green" for the starter, generator, tool box and know the distributor?

That is a really cool treasure ... You need to post that up in the treasure thread :)

Cool about the tops as well... Love to hear more

I don't think there was a concensus to the correct green... Kinda looks like the dark green from ford model a's... I wouldn't be surprised if it was a match

The made in the USA refers to the shafts, it seems as though someone has epoxy'd the TEQ heads onto the newer shafts?
