I made a new front and rear sill.

The floor of the bed is 3/16" steel diamond tread.

So why did you decide to fab your own bed instead of working the other 45 bed you had?

I started to. As I cut away the rust and made patch panels, I realized that I had better quit since I would have nothing left. The rust was so bad, the only thing I could use was the center section of the bed floor and the top lip.

I'll post pics of what is left of the bed.

Some FJ45 guys may need some patch panels.

I still have not figured out what the third latch is for.

Left over from the spare tire carrier, latch for the one side is identical to the one for the tailgate.

The 3/16 tread plate is kinda heavy for a bed floor. Why not cut up a never truck bed as a donor?

Your truck looks great otherwise, gives me lots of ideas for future projects!

Dan,

The bed is turning out awesome, nice work, but what am I getting credit for on this part of your project?

Some people can weld toilet paper to a brick without using Argon.

Oh, that's easy. Just get some toilecrete wire for your mig.
