Nutserts are the business. Great solution for many install apps as well ad repairs like this one. Buy from McMaster. The cheap Chinese sets are rubbish

I use them in several of my mounts and rack components as welding nuts is stupid. These can be replaced if needed and installed after powder. Works and worked very well.

McMaster sells small packs as I didn't need 100 12mm ones, and yes only US made hardware.

Just went through your build very impressive! I enjoyed reading about your LC almost as much as seeing your dog, it reminds me of our family's retriever, most loyal friend you will ever have. I honestly had no idea that you are the mastermind behind the LabRak. I have been drooling over it since I purchased my LX, I can't wait to snag one. Your interiors are beautiful, I have seen your thread on the seat covers as well, man they are stunning. Are you still working on a kit for the LX as from my understanding was slightly different then the LC? One last question...Is there still a discount for your rack for forum members? I am quite a worm on this forum but recently switched from T4R.org as the 4runner is out and the LX is in its place! Keep the Toyota running thick in my blood!

Scratch that...Found your LX470 seat cover group buy...

Shane, what is that black goop used to secure the plastic film (splash shield)? I need to replace mine but I want to use the same gunk.

Shane - What kind of foam is that / where did you purchase it? Thanks.

This is "Great Stuff" brand from Home Depot. It's an expanding gap filling foam.

The doors look like s*** as it was an after thought. But the from the middle row hinges back is done 100%

LOL, No I haven't recovered yet from installing it....... I may not put it together yet as I am working on another project and need the rear panels out for measuring.

Just a heads up.

Before my dad handed down his FJ55 to me, he used expanding foam in the quarter panels and it caused a lot of rust to form.

Now, I know that the old land cruisers were rust buckets, but it was obvious when I began restoring it that the foam insulation had done considerable damage. There was a clear line of rust between where it had and had not been used.

It's hard to tell from the pics (at least for me) where the foam is, so it may not be an issue.

Just wanted to throw that out there.

I only ran it across the hump from the middle doors. I didn't run into the wells as I'm aware of this. I mainly wanted to shoot the tight seam edge from the quarter panel and wheel well meet. I used Dynamat down to the bottom and left an 1" from the bottom. Also did this in the doors.
