No pics but I got Dora back on the road and drove her to work today. The reworked t.converter is more responsive and Dora accelerates quicker now. It's not perfect but it is better and only cost me $220 for the rework. Someday I'll try out a custom built converter with a lower stall than this one but for now this will do just fine. I didn't have a problem getting onto the freeway before so this just makes it more fun. I routed the crossmember under the front driveshaft this time and frame mounted it like the factory FJ60 crossmember was. I still need to finish off the ends, maybe add a couple of gussets and paint it up but it's functional now. Of course this means I'll have to redo the skidplate but it was a good move since the previous crossmember was starting to bend and had a crack showing up.
Not sure why this one gave me problems but I finally got youtube to accept it. It's been done since Sunday and it would keep failing to process but this one stuck. Here's Part 7
Started reworking my shifters for the tcase and doubler. Got the levers pretty much done and now on to the linkage. The reason to rework them is because there was too much slop for me and I couldn't get the shift nobs all on since they were too close together. Happy Thanksgiving.
Very cool! Best video yet! Have a great Thanksgiving Mike (and family) Hit me up if you want some help getting the sticks or other stuff done before the Chrstmas Tree run!

I was excited and ready for the snow to come to our area. We have a club run this saturday but I won't be attending after new developements last night. We're getting some chilly arctic air that are dropping our temps so after work I started up Dora and let her warm up for a couple minutes before heading home. When I put it in reverse I didn't get the engagement I'm used to. When I gave it some fuel she didn't move. I tried all gears, inspected underneath for something loose or missing, checked the fluid, and only at high rpms could I get it to almost crawl. I had a fellow co-worker, neighbor, and 100 series owner tow me home last night. At least I was towed by another Landcruiser. It looks like I'll get to test out how easy it is to remove my new crossmember so I can drop the tranny AGAIN and dig inside. Now I'm not so excited for the cold temps with the possibility of some snow. Well...got to keep playing the game. I took saturday off and I know what I'll be doing.
Bought another "manual" 4L80 yesterday except this one isn't the same kind of manual as mine. I'll share once I've got it figured out. Hoping to get a big update on this thread done this week.
Missed a good time on Sat Mike. Sorry you couldn't make it. Another cool video as always. If you need a hand let me know. Also hit me up when things slow down. We would still like to do dinner!
I mean another 4l80 that's been converted to manual shift. It's been converted differently than mine. I thought it was the same kit I used but it's controlled differently so now I'll need to decided which style to use. I bought another one to get me on the road sooner and I can troubleshoot the one that failed more leisurely. I'll explain better once I got it all sorted out, hopefully with pics since I owe you guys a bunch of update pics.
