Any chance I can get a UV-5R programmed at camp? Also anyone heading up Thursday morning from NOVA?

Is there a kids rate for the cove's fee? Seems pretty price for two kids under 4.
You’d need to contact The Cove for pricing on kids.

My assumption is that they charge the same price for kids and adults. They are pretty firm on getting their money and no discounts in my experience.

Where are you in NoVA?
I'm in Arlington. I want to wheel on Thursday though so planning on packing up Wednesday night and leaving early Thursday morning.

Do we have to pay a separate fee to the Cove other than the event registration fee?

A few of us from NC are gonna get in kinda late Thursday, will that be an issue?

Camping and Land use: All camping and land use (wheeling) fees will be paid directly to the Cove
+ Camping & land use event fee, per person: $90 for Friday, Saturday and Sunday wheeling and camping Friday and Saturday nights (there is no prorating)
+ Thursday night camping fee: $20
• Example: 1 person arriving Thursday and camping a wheeling through Sunday:
+ $45 Event registration
+ $20 Thursday overnight
+ $90 Friday & Saturday camping and land use:

= $155 Thurs evening through Sunday

Guess that's what I get for glancing over the details and assuming, lol. It's more expensive than windrock though, that's a surprise.

Oh well. Will plan on checking in first thing Friday am.

Someone should be able to accommodate that.
WIth Ed being out, will anyone have a laptop or tablet with cable to program the Baofengs?

@afgman786 ?

I'll see if I can find my programming cables before I leave CLT today. CHIRP doesn't like my MacBook so I can't offer to help that way.

Last year's Fall Crawl was my first trip to the Cove and I enjoyed it tremendously. I even navigated one day and it was not bad. Believe me I've missed turns and got on the wrong trails many a time at all the parks I've been at- Paragon, Rausch, AOAA, all of them. Field and Forest up in New Hampshire is about the worst of all of them as far as marking trails.

Download Maprika to your phone/tablet and pull the Black Goat map for The Cove.

Is that one better than the one by BGORC?
