They have metal targets at 50 and 100. You can also bring your own targets and set em up as well

Haven't shot the new range they put up yet.
ahhh good then I won't have to bring my metal targets then...

Are you referring to the new long range?

Yup

I would be very interested in joining your event... and becoming a member as well.... I missed the meeting on the 4th thought.
I am in the Baltimore area and recently picked up a Lexus GX470 and have done a couple of trips on the Peters mill trail ... bone stock and had a good time with no issues.

Your half a rover will be just fine, ask Bob @76FJ40 .

Well since this is my first event like this I am not up on how you guys go about things but while I am looking forward to the gathering I have been working on a few new ideas for meals to make while at the camp site.

Since I am sure the weather will be nice and cool and chilly even... I wanted to make something warming, besides having heaps of Tea or Coffee in the morning.

So besides the staple of pancakes and sausages (which Ill be making one morning for sure) I came up with a few ideas for breakfast and dinners

Churizo Sausage gravy w/ sweet peppers, sesame seeds and spring onions over English muffins

IMG_20200901_103538.jpg

Whiskey glazed Sausage and Pepper chunks

IMG_20200827_145320.jpg

Teriyaki Beef with carrots, corn and red cabbage in lettuce cups

IMG_20200817_195034.jpg

Is anyone else planning anything different besides the normal hot dogs and burger?... and yes I will have hot dogs with me as well LOL!!!

Love to hear what everyone else is planning or of there are group plans or anything at all really...

I don't know if any of you are willing to share food given the circumstances but if you are you more than welcome to whatever I make.

Well looks like ill make some extra and we can trade!!! the Cobbler looks Great!!!

Deal!

The cobbler was awesome, and super easy to make. I can do apple too.
ohhhh apple!!! mmmmm apple cobbler with a nice dram of whiskey..... but I won't be picky Blue berry is awesome too!!

Deal...!!! I'll double my food stuffs so ill have more to make. Normally I pack just enough for myself or if I have a camp mate... that way there is no waste and its easy to store in the cooler. I will also pre-chop and Ziploc bag things like onions, cabbage and other stuff so then there is less prep to worry about and less clean up and washing. The goal is to have as little waste as possible so there is less to clean up and take away.

With the vacuum sealer it makes it easy to portion and pack. also you can freeze it and no freezer burn and pull it out the night before packing and it'll slowly defrost as the trip goes on and stays cold enough that there are no worries about it spoiling.

dinner breakfast dinner breakfast
1/2 lb of ground beef - 1/2 lb Pork Chorizo sausage mix - 1 lb beef sausage - 1/2 lb of bacon

apple it is.

You're obviously way more organized than me. I try not to make too much but always end up throwing some away.

my problem is I WILL make too much and I WILL eat it ALL!!... product of being told there are starving kids in Africa when growing up!

@Svensk120 I’ve been going a step further with the vac sealer. Cooking food at home, double sealing it, sometimes double bagging, then simply heating it in a pot of warm water. I did over 30lbs cooked of bbq like this last year that I had smoked at home as I had time before the event. Beat the s*** out of dragging a cooker out there and wasting a day cooking. Also eliminated weather as an issue.

But, of course, nothing beats grub done over a live fire when there’s time.

Time has a way of warping at Fall Crawl...
I plan to make a pot of hot mulled cider and Fireball.

I have done the precook and reheat route before and it has worked out very well for me... Especially with BBQ... Used to load my smoker up and do 15 lbs or more then portion it and pop it into the freezer and months later it was pull it out heat it up and yummy!!
Yet, like you said, nothing like doing it live! I won't be using a camp fire but I'll use my stove... Might do some dogs or sausage on a fire.
My issue is that I've never been to this place or out with this group so I don't know what it will look like and all so I can only plan on what I have and can do solo.
I would love to hear more about what the camp side is like

Camp is wide open field, surrounded by trees. Bring in everything you will need. They do sell ice and firewood. You can also drag wood out of the woods.

Cook food that smells really good, share some with those around and you will quickly have a bunch of new friends! Very easy going group, most do not get too loud. Rumor has it they do like to drink a little but I do not think we will be doing stick races or keg stands. Brown liquor flows well through the group. Beer chases it down.

Wake up start cooking again and you will find even more friends. Find some with like vehicles and go out and enjoy the day. Come back and repeat. By the end of the weekend you will have a hard time remembering names! Me I just walk around and see old friends and meet new ones.

Well Matzell you have a reservation already so I know I will be seeing you! Now with your advice looks like I will have to up the food amount!!
White Lexus GX470 basically stock (for now)
are there established fire pits?
grills like at a state park? I'll have my own stoves and all but just curious.
picnic tables? or anything like that? again i have my own tables and chairs and all.
Also does everyone sort of find a spot to park and set up camp next to their vehicles ? ( i hope so don't want to have to drag my stuff around)

Glad to hear its not too rowdy of a group I do enjoy my sleepy time! Also Crap! I suck with names!

brown liquor is not an issue with me, neither is beer... but i do enjoy a nice bottle of adult grape juice too!
