Factory Air

Did toyota put factory air in a 71 fj55?

I am pretty sure only late pigs had dealer installed factory air.. i.e. 76 and up...

I had a 72 with air. Not sure if it was dealer installed or factory but the compressor was Japanese (Nippondenso?)

Mine is Nippon denso unit and it sure looks like it is factory. It mounts to holes in the firewal that look like they are punched in and it lines up perfectly with the indents in the firewall. Also the condensor lines up perfectly in the grill and the mounts look factory

Factory air was an option as of 7/'70. there are two styles of factory A/C units, one from to 7/'70 and 9/'73-80. Early style underdash unit(fitted to my old FJ40) on top, and a later style in an FJ55.

So AC from a '76 should go in a '74?

I was wondering if A/C from an 82 40 series would fit in my newly acuired 1970 55
