good to know the setup has been working for 6 months. I have a feeling once everything settle it is the kind of setup you just get to love. I just went for my daily round trip to work because I could not wait until Monday to see what my daily trip will be. loved it

I forgot to say that I have asked RadFlo to tune the shock a tad softer. biased the setup more toward road drive vs. off-road. I wanted to be more comfortable on the road at the expense of going slower off road.

so if you just buy the stock setup for an 80, your ride might be a bit stiffer on the road then my experience.

so far, I wouldn't make if any stiffer then it is now.

I don't have any real knowledge base on these shocks I just installed them. My main concerns where how tight they fit on the truck.

While talking with Rami during delivery I felt that driving on pavement was perfectly safe but had concerns when flexing the suspension.

On both the front and rear the big concern was how well the shocks will maintain their position. If either the front or rear shock rotated some then contact with the body or suspension components might happen.

A front fix might be as easy as using an insulated cable holder mounted to the shock tower to maintain the shocks position.

I think the best option for the rear is to divorce the reservoir from the shock body and mount it remotely. Delancy in the other thread posted a pic of an available bracket that would likely work well for mounting the reservoir to the side of the upper spring frame.

All that said my wife commented on how much better she felt the truck rode over my truck. Considering that she is usually pretty numb to this stuff I think it says something about how much of a difference you can expect.

So based on Landtanks comment I'm assuming the remote res would be the way to go rather than the piggyback? Would that be a safe assumption?
 
the res is only strapped to the body with a gear clamp not mounted like some. I'm assuming that if you were to remove that clamp you could then move the res to a position that would allow it to be mounted elsewhere. I'm not sure the existing hose is long enough to go where I said but I'm sure they can be made with longer ones.
 
Since there is a schrader, does that mean a hose can be added to extend the nitrogen input/output for easier access? Or am I definitely over thinking it?

Over thinking. Way over-thinking it.

If you're not going to be cycling the suspension with the shocks installed, but no N2, I don't know why there'd be reason to access the port with frequency enough to warrant.
 
if these will work with a 2.5-3inch lift , i want to buy them.
i wont be wheeling so i think i will be ok keeping the reservoirs mounted to the shock for now.
who am i getting these from ?
 
As you can see on the picture, I guess that with the original short hose it will work! I will try during the summer.

I was actually thinking along the side of the spring mount. That way you are not covering over items like brake lines and such and would have a nice surface to attach the brackets to. From that picture the hose would need to be longer to do that.

The remote reservoirs are not absolutely necessary unless you're doing sustained high speeds off road. The IFP smooth body is just as good and will give the same performance on and off road. We are also a Radlo dealer and have worked directly with Radflo to get the shocks developed for the 80 series
 
LT has a point to a 2.5" lift.

when I talked to RadFlo, they say I can have the remote because I have the 4" lift

Cam at IPOR said the with 2.5" he recommends a rear shock with no remote because a fitness issues and now I can see what he means.

this is why this review started and stated my truck configuration. I am certainly recommend to anyone that contemplate buying such an expensive option to fully research the config that is best for them.

so my points are these:

1. shocks make a difference
2. talk to Radflo direct about how you want the ride characteristics to be. they can valve it the way you want it.
3. Buy from your trusted RadFlo reseller vendor, they can help you with fitting and other issues.
4. For the price of a set of tires you get substantially different shock that put to rest the OME vs. Ironman discussion.
5. just looking at the RadFlo shaft..massive.. can give you inferiority complex.
