SBFJ,

How's it going?

I'm torn between asking and not bugging you cause I know you have your hands full with all this!

How about an idea of when you will have the last order shipped by? That way we will all have a good guess at when to expect the tops.

Cant help myself:bounce::bounce2::bounce::bounce2::cheers::cheers:

I'm sure he is shipping away, I got mine yesterday.

It is awesome, I can't belive how good the top itself looks, very nice product indeed. I got gray vinyl, but it appears to be a very good material, very soft, nice color and well assembled.

The bows look good too, loosely fit it all together last night. Should work out alright, looks like a few things will need some tweaking, but very impressive. The framework around the doors is amazing, Ehsans guys really can work metal.

Only big issue I found, is that they sent me the wrong cross bar over the rear door opening. If you look closely the bows are stamped with letters, either "X" or "XX" on mine. This helps to get the right bows in the right orientation because they were drilled individually. The rear one over the door is stamped with E and EE, but the peice that slips on is stamped with G and GG. Thus the little holes do not line up, because they were not drilled together. Not a big deal at all, unless someone finds they have mine :) Easily fixed though.

Hopefully tonight I can get it draped over the rig and start fitting things up.

Oh, and good thing Alex sent me the tracking number for the package. Got to my town, was supposed to be delivered yesterday. I was watching closely, and UPS puts up a status report stating that the street name could not be identified. I don't have a UPS Store or anything here, just a warehouse they stage from. Luckily when I went by last night a driver was there. So was my top, Alex had left my street number off the address, but no worries, I have it now. I'm so relieved to finally have it. Thanks for all the hard work Alex.

Got it all put on. I need to finnesse the bows a bit, can't quite get it stretched all the way back, rear seam is still rolled forward a bit. Looks great though. I think if I can adjust the bows shorter in front to rear length a bit I'll be there. Plus get it out in some sun to soften up and stretch a bit.

Install went pretty good, did it by myself, not bad really. Only big snag I hit is that the material, after threading in and wrapping around the windshield channel peice is very tight on my wiper arms. I have the top mounted style and actually had to take the drivers side off during installation due to difficulty getting the fabric past it. Anyone have any suggestions on this. Maybe I need to massage the front peice up a bit to get a little more clearance. Otherwise, everything else fits up really nice.

Now I have to take it all apart and paint it, wanted to fit it up first though, make sure stuff was good.

I thought about shimming it, maybe just some thin rubber under the entire thing, plus some bending will be just the ticket.

Thanks for the gasket idea, I was thinking washers under each bolt last night, but that would make a draft in the front. Rubber will be better, it will also reduce the rust and metal to metal issues there.

Hello
I am glad that you liked the top. The bows have slight adjustment that can be made in the length from front to back. When installing, bolt it to as short as possible then install the top on a sunny day and adjust the bows to the longest possible fit. Also. If you need more adjustment you can pin grind the oval holes n the side bow to make room for more shortening of the bows. Hope that helps. Would love to see pics.
Thanks
Ehsan

Thanks Ehsan for such a great product. I really like it, I ran out of time last night to really adjust the bows. I will do some more on it tonight or tomorrow. It was also getting pretty cool, so I stopped tugging and messing. I'll put it in the sun tomorrow afternoon and see if the wrinkles work out some, then adjust some more.

Yeah, lets see some pics! A bunch of you guys got your tops a while ago. Anybody get their bows painted or powder coated at a professional shop? Cost?

A local paint shop around here is doing mine primed, sanded, painted in Toyota 532 and clear coated for around $150. I am doing a set or OEM fenders, tailgate, and bib at the same time so that's just a guesstimate off the estimate:grinpimp:

The are gonna look sweet with my new top when it gets here!

so here is a question. I bought a black 7 window canvas top. Should i change my rims over to black or do you think it will look ok as is?

Bezel is wrong

Good question though, I got gray, and now my white spookers look out of place. Guess I have to get out the old stock rims and clean them up. Was leaning that way, anyways, a friend gave me some stock hubcaps with the hub hole in them, as mine were cut open years ago for the hubs, and looked like crap. Might make for a nice look. Don't know what to tell you, you have enough black on there, it may be okay without.

I wouldn't paint black just because of the top, but I am partial to black rims.

Flip that bezel foshizzle!
