I tackled some more TLC and maintenance: I measure the valve clearances a few weeks ago and figured out the shims I needed. After a couple weeks, the shims finally arrived and I was able to get the valve clearances back to spec. Things weren’t too far off, but not perfect. Honestly this was a really fun job.
While I was in there I also:
- new OEM valve cover gasket
- new OEM intake / crossover pipe gasket
- new OEM throttle cable assembly
- I repainted the valve cover silver
- new OEM oil cap

Motor now runs smoother and quieter. No more quiet ticks or anything. Duke has never fun better.
