Hello from France Bryce !
Nice build 🤌
I’m currently rebuilding my turbo like you and I was asking myself which paint did you use to respray your exhaust manifold cover ?
Have a nice day
Hello there! I think i used a generic silver exhaust paint i found at the local auto parts store. nothing too fancy

Work i did this past summer:

- 1fz Airbox lid for better airflow. Larger silicon pipes to the turbo as well.
- Rewired all accessories. Simplified so that there is only one lug going to each battery. Much simpler to remove battery, disconnect the charger for the camper, and source issues.

More summer 2025 work:
- Removed the boosted style of clutch assembly and retrofitted a non boosted setup from a later model 80. Much simpler. I had to make a plat to adapt t0 the firewall.
- I also upgraded the brake booster to the PDI booster (Which left me stranded later that summer) and made custom hard lines for both the brakes and clutch.
- NOTE: The clutch pedal assembly is completely different for the boostest vs non-boosted. I sources from a fellow mudder who had one from the middle east.

While fitting the pro-wing gull wing, i uncovered a little rust (I knew it was there, I had just been avoiding). I patched it up knowing that when i paint the truck ill proper weld it in the future.

Pro-wing gulls look and work amazing! Proper automotive glass. Looks right at home!

Congrats on the garage. What happened with the PDI booster?
Thank you! The PDI failed after an emergency stop. Some interval valving failed so that it would not release pressure and return the brake pedal. Once you depress the pedal, it would lock the brakes ON. Luckily we broke down next to an awesome campground and an amazing stranger delivered us an OEM brake booster from Bend, which was a few hours away. OEM one worked great. Imagine that. haha

FINALLY FINALIZED THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND LINES:
- Got a new OEM (bendix) booster installed and remade the hard lines for (hopefully) the last time to fit the smaller (than PDI) booster. Looks and feels great!

I also cut up my fenders and added euro style side markers because I cant help myself. Oh so very euro.
(dont judge the photo of the hole. it looks rough because I left some extra PPF wrap for the edges)

Sucks! Man I just installed a PDI booster. haha. I'll have to carry a spare

What a great thread update. Those Falken tires are great just got a set myself a few months ago. Great traction especially given how quiet they are. And Japanese too!

On the wheel studs, I bought some ARPs and they fit great. No problems gong on 6 years.

The garage is great man. Really like that you have shop tables and a vice! Congrats!

Looking great Bryce. Sorry if I missed it but are you still running the Nimbus shocks? How are you liking them?

Congrats on the garage!
