I was interested back in 07. Now in 2011 I'm still interested. What's that old saying "Stay the course"

I've got two sets of the housings and to me these were the coolest turn signals every put on a FJ40.

if all goes well with these I might have him make me up some "true" front bibs and some "true" rear tail lights. I have both here and in better shape than the turn signal I supplied

If I am not mistaken, those would be the same as on my '64, and I would be in for a couple of those

While I don't think I have samples of those that are good enough for a mold I do have them to compare notes as far as markings. The front clear bib lights were used until the 68 model but not sure if the markings stayed the same the whole time. When did the SAE and year markings start?

I can't speak definitively, but I was quoted under $20 a lens. a single set will require 4 lenses.

everyone will be paying what I pay, nothing more. I REALLY hope this works out, should have the sample here by the end of this week/early next week.

I'm sure some of you could imagine................................., but I have inquired with more businesses/people than I care to remember regarding these.

Cool, if it comes in at that price it would be fantastic!! You are the man for putting this together:cheers:

I guess it looks like we are going to have to source O rings for the lenses. I'll try to remember to get a part number and check with a local dealer just on the outside chance they used them in other applications. I did find O rings to find fit my custom made hubs that did away we the C clips for my Torsen diffs. I could see if they are still there once I know the size. They seem to look pretty skinny.

I think the repro clear front bib and red 25 rear are marked SAE 67 same as the last new orange ones I got.

that's right.................the orange, white and red are all from the same casting.

top of lens reads "SAE P 76" while the bottom of the lens
reads "212-33948 KOITO JAPAN"

the lenses I'm considering re-casting only have bottom print which reads
"KOITO MADE IN JAPAN L-1089" for brake lts
and "KOITO MADE IN JAPAN L-1088" for front bibs

hopefully you can see in the pictures that the "KOITO" script is also very different

they're here. not PERFECT, but pretty good I think considering what we started with. definitely $17 dollars worth.

they aren't SUPER clear or SUPER crisp but no one would even touch them because we didn't have a perfect model to go off of.

let me know if any of you would need to see them in person, maybe we could "rapid" ship them around

kind of hard to see, but here they go. ask away

loks great man

dig the under the bumper plate mount, so it will work with fog lights yeeah?

I might be into one of those :D

yea it works well with the fogs but it sticks out a little too far for my liking. I'm going to shorten up the design a bit. if you like it the way it looks let me know, I have a friend with a C&C machine that can make these very cheap. it's out about 2 maybe 3 inches, I'd like it to be 1/2 or so

Cool on both the lens and plate bracket!! I agree that getting it closer to the bumper would be much better :)

Now I need a '61 or '62 40 :D

couple of more, plus something else I was tinkering with....................

What style tires are those?? I'd like to run them on my LV resto.

Thanks
JP
