Cal60 has 700r4,203 slpit case set up dont know if he did a build thread or not

If you are talking about the A440.. nothing out there. Your only option AFAIK is to put lower gears in the stock split case. Marks gears sells them, last I checked $1400 got you 8%. Not much bang for the buck.

Why??
The A440 has the same output as the 5 speed right? so why would a 203/splitcase doubler not work??

I have a 5.0/C6/203/Splitcase but it don't run yet..

Very interested in the response to Mace's question. A440 to 203 to splitcase would be great.

Pretty sure the bolt pattern is different. The Tcase overall is. I've checked this before and they are not interchangable. Just don't remember the details as I sit at home in front of the computer (no manuals or assemblies to eyeball here).

mark...

I wish there was a viable option for a doubler behind the a440f, its strikingly unsupported by the aftermarket.

So they made 2 different late split tcases??? Bolt pattern and input wise?

Klune-v says that a version of their box for "long" 19 spline 4 and 5 speeds and A440 and A442 is in the works - but the page has said that forever so I doubt that they are actively working on it: http://www.klunev.com/page_toyota_landcruiser.htm

Mark's also has a reduction box that bolts to the backside of transfer cases (I believe that Christo runs one in his shortbus). I've been watching their page for probably a year and still no version for 60s and 70s. However even though it's apparently not available they list the final crawl ratios for A440s with 4.11 diffs just as a teaser (74.7:1): http://www.marks4wd.com/products/gearmaster/Cruiser-Crawler.htm I just set them an email to try and get an availability status on this for 60s.

This looks sweet but did you check the price on that peice? 3150 AU dollars? I dont know the exchange rate but that cant be cheap. Their tcase gears alone are like 1500, that thats gotta be super expensive. Might as well buy an atlas or a stax box for that kind of money.

Yeah, I know, the price is just silly  Sure would be sweet though...

I called and talked to Klune about 6 months ago. They said they originally planed on doing a box for 62's. Not enough interest, they dropped it from the plans.

I just bolted an fj62 case to an H41....I dont see what would be the difference would be by bolting up the adapter and 203...Im with mace on this one...still confused?

The 62 tranny has an extension housing of sorts on the back already, the best thing to do would be to come up with an adapter that replaced that which would allow the auto to mate with the crawler box (203, whatever). I guess the only issue is how to get the auto output to mate with doubler box input if one was to use a pre-existing adapter though.

Im intrigued by the possibility of a 203 doubler, i could probably rig that up for cheaper than a 4.88 swap and still be able to run 30s to fit in my parking garage when im at school.

the reason i asked here is cause ihave an auto LJ78 that performs very well off road ut i am going up to 36 tractor tires and need lower gearing. since there has been nothing for mods to the 78 series yet i was considering a doubler to the low range...
sounds kind of sad support from the after market communities though...
thanks guys...

toybox should work too..

If the tcases are the same..

Marks says that as of now they have no definite date for a version of their crawler box for the split tcase.

Here is the response I received from Klune when I asked them yesterday about what planetary crawl boxes they had available for the A440 to LC splitcase.

"I have the Klune, and I have the needed adapters to the Split Case. I do not have the adapter from the A440. I have a notion of a source that might, and I have an inquiry out on this. In the meantime, are you perhaps aware of an adapter from this trans to say a Dana 300, or an NP231, or perhaps an Atlas?"

I'll let you know if Greg's "source" comes through with an adapter from the A440.
