drive shaft nuts and bolts

So, neither the 11mm or the 7/16 are even close to fitting. Here's the bolt, it's sad - and it's small. I don't have anything here of known size to compare it too, but it doesn't even look 10mm. (they are 8mm) Is this because my drive shaft is old? Or has it been changed out at some point? Down to the hardware store - again.

Flanges may have been swapped out at some point :meh: why not just drill the holes for the 11mm or 7/16" bolts? Use a 29/64" drill.......it's not that complicated.

Funny, I hadn't thought of that. I'll go hunting for a 29/64'ths bit.

If you drill out the holes I'd definitely recommend going with the 11mm OEM bolts, washers, and nuts.

Hi Beno,

Is there a kit for 10mm?
Do you klnow if 90101-10264 is 10mm?

There is no kit for the 10MM hardware.

I would use the following:

90560-10H00 (this part number has 4 flat washers in it. So buy as needed- XXXXX-XXHXX indicates a "kit" part number meaning you get more than a Q=1 of whatever part is inside)

90178-10006 (pre-coated lock nut)

90105-10424 (pre-coated flange bolt)

@workingdog in your tag line you list a '66, so that's old (earlier than most of the "earlys" that get referred to, lol). And I believe the "old" rigs (58-67 IIRC) used 8mm flange bolts and nuts. I could be wrong, but I think I heard this from Georg and/or Jim. @beno, if they are 8mm for "old" rigs, is there an active OEM part number for such for all pieces?

Thank you Beno, is there a way I can place an order with your for this items for my BJ40?

the bolt is 90101-08072

washer 94512-00800

nut 94110-40800

Looking for some help. I recently picked up a modified FJ. It's a '69 with Longfield axles, Orion Transfer case, and '77 Transmission. After a weekend of driving, I noticed I had lost one driveshaft flange bolt in the front and the other three were getting loose. I was able to tighten the other three, but obviously, need to replace the missing one. After doing some research it appears most of the FJ flange bolts are 8, 10, or 11mm....my bolts are 13mm. Does that make sense or do I have some sort of upgraded flange or driveshaft? Ultimately, any idea what types of bolts do I need and where can I buy them? Thanks in advance.

13mm head is probably a Euro-spec M8 bolt. If it is 13mm shank it is definitely not stock

The head of the bolt requires a 13mm socket. I have not measured the shaft of the bolt.
