Door locks acting up

So when I exit my 2018 the doors will not lock either by pressing on the place on the handle or by the key fob. If I do get them to work the driver's door will not unlock and I either have to use the manual key or open the back door and climb to the door handle and open it from the interior?

Same problem with both key fobs.

Any ideas?

After getting my 2017, and going through the Toyota.com VIN service records, the PO had drivers door lock problems a year or so back and had the actuator replaced

Have you replaced any of the light bulbs with LED bulbs? Maybe from superbrightleds?

No, I have not replaced any light bulbs. Just curious though, how would that impact the door locks?

Its an easy fix. Door actuators are only around $150-$250.

I had a 2015 GX that had actuator problems. It was a known failure on the GX. Covered by warranty back then. Hadn't heard of the problem on a 200.

My passenger door started acting up a year ago, wouldn't lock with the FOB, only from inside the car I was manually able to lock the car, I ended up replacing the actuator, part itself wasn't terribly expensive, took me about an hour to replace it.

Several folks have reported odd and wonky behavior after swapping to LED bulbs. Just thought I'd mention it.

What's the level of difficulty on it? I am real good with wood, pretty good with mechanical items, getting kind of iffy with electrical (unless its plug and play) and scared as hell of trim pieces.

Take this with a grain of salt- I haven’t replaced them on a LC, but have on other vehicles - this job is mostly taking the door card off and putting it back on with a couple of unplug/replug of electrical plugs to the door switches and lighting. The actuator itself is probably bolted on, has a single electrical plug and has a clip attaching it to the actuator rod. If you’re good with mechanical work, a project like this should be easy.

As @CharlieS said, it's a fairly straight forward remove and replace operation. Find and remove all of the hidden screws attaching the interior door skin, swap out the actuator, and reinstall everything.

Is the door panel installed with screws, ie not those very breakable plastic things?

Both. The plastic tabs are pretty robust.
