I'd go bronze and never look back... :D

Believe it or not, there is no such thing as door bushings. The original part was just a flat nylon washer. You can see it in this diagram. Part # 90202-08083.

There is a plastic bushing from the Toyota parts bin that looks like the photo below, part number 90386-08004. Mostly you find this style with aftermarket pins. It's not original equipment on the FJ40.

It's not original equipment? Then do u know what is? Looks like your part number is correct. I will check Monday at the dealer. Thanks racer

My door hinges were extremely worn. They were oval holes. So... I drilled out the holes to fit 3/8" x 5/16" x 1/2" Oilite Bronze bushings. Cost was about $1 a piece. With a couple drill bits and a bit of filling they fit tight enough to slow down the door swing.

I'd highly recommend them for members with worn and beat up hinges. Mine is not a low mileage survivor... it's got over 230k miles on the clock (if it's not 330k miles). When I bought it in 1991, it was a rusty beater with '35k' on the clock and I'm sure it was at least 135k... I don't think it was 235k... but at this point it doesn't matter. Newer frame, axles, body, engine, trans, transfer case, seats, etc... last count was parts from over 30 vehicles have contributed to making it the rig it is. :D

That's the nylon washer for the door stopper - nothing to do with the door hinges.

My next challenge down the road is new door check stops. Not that I need them immediately. Racer this is actually a part I would really like to see u make man.

Talk to Steve at EBI Cruisers. He had a bucket or two of them last time I was at his shop. I'm not sure if you're looking for new ones or just better ones... I've never had any on my truck... and only ever seen the ones Steve had.

This is what is on my doors and I'm fairly confident they had never been removed before I did last year.

This is the bushing for the door stop pin not the hinge pin. I'm guessing the hinge pin bushings weren't available separately when that parts diagram was printed.

I took apart brand new hinges from Toyota to install the brass bushings and the picture shown was what were in the hinge set. So at least in my case these were OEM.

Yup. Upon further investigation, that is indeed the case. Looks like the bushing is not shown separately in the parts diagram. The part that comes with the new hinge is 90386-08004, but I'm not sure if you can get it from the dealership.

Where did you get your bushing's from? I am having a tough time finding them.
