dome light assemblies

Hi all,

i don't have any dome lights right now, and i'm going to put in some with LEDs in them.

Question, has anyone found good/cheap dome light assemblies with LEDs? Or even just cheap basic dome light assemblies? i've gone through parts catalog after parts catalog, and haven't really found any decent dome light assemblies that are just basic (housing, lens, switch) square, rectangular, or circular.

I don't really care what kind, I can put whatever in. I just want something basic and self-contained.

the range rover dome lights are pretty ok, but i can't seem to find the entire assembly anywhere (online - i'm sure i could get them at a junk yard).

Look at RV accessories catalogs, they carry all kinds of that stuff.

I thought the FJ40 had the little square box for a dome light. I'm not sure what a Range Rover Dome light looks like.

I used to work at an autoparts store and we carried grote lights... here's a link to their interior lights cataloghttp://www.grote.com/prodcat/printcatfiles/GroteLEDWhiteLightInteriorBrochure.pdf Page 5 has some LED domestyle lights that sound roughly like what your looking for.

I use a light from American Technologies mounted on my overhead tray. I also use their dash mount compass/external temperature display. Both products have been installed for a number of years and have never presented any issues. Courtesy Lighting

those are pretty nice. wish i had known about them earlier, i already picked up some RV ones. they should work out pretty well though.

Do you have a roll cage? I was thinking about using one of these from Tatum Sand Cars (when I get around to it). I'm not sure how it's switched on or off though but it looks nice.

Not sure what your budget is, but I used sometihing like these 12v halogen lights that I got from Home Depot.

Ask for hockey puck under cabinet lights. Look for a 120v ac to 11 or 12v DC converter on the plug. I just cut off the plug and wired them into the OE dome light. now they come on when I turn on the dome light.

I bought a box of 3 for around $25. Mounted them to the OE roll bar. 2 facing forward, one facing the rear.
