Not sure how I feel about the wheels, hoping they grow on me more or may get swapped. Wrong lugs were delivered also, so will change those to Black in a couple days. Removed mud flaps with a tad more trimming to handle reverse rub and fit is fine, need to test flex soon.

I think they look good too! Method 702’s?

If your unsure of the look, maybe consider black wrap (or black plasti-dip) on your chrome (e.g. door moldings/trim, front rear chrome). I think the gray/bronze/black would look killer!

@kromealt I think it turned out great. The tires poke out just enough to look aggressive enough, and not over doing it. I think to take it from a 9.5/10 to a perfect 10/10 would be to paint the wheels black.

If you had started with a for example a dissent off road front steel bumper, could that completely alleviate any trimming?

Also, would you mind taking pictures of where the kdss comes close to the tires/flex/stuffed pics?

Thanks!

Yeah 702. Wrapping chrome is planned when we get some better weather. Don't get me wrong I love the stance, I think that's great - I'm just not in love with the rims. I wanted to stick with Bronze but admit this rim would probably look better in black, Method has a weird bronze paint that looks kind of cheap - not nearly as nice as the Rotiform Six-OR Bronze I had on Raptor.

Yes, having a high profile front bumper would negate trimming IF you're running UCA's and can tweak the caster to get away from the rear side fender. I'll get pics when able but I'm nowhere near the kdss bar with this offset, that's a high offset problem.

I think they look great. While I agree that Method's bronze isn't as good as others, most notably Raceline, they still look better than black IMHO. Should you decide to take them off and need to sell them, let me know.

Thanks! Raceline does have a nice bronze. Despite being ultra picky, the LC has been the most difficult rig to find nice wheels for...5x150 with low offset is a challenge. Doesn't help that the market is flooded with hideous/gaudy wheels.

Been a cruddy weekend so I'm hoping the dislike is temporary until things chill out, will let ya know

Looks good! I would echo what others said and maybe get the chrome trim wrapped black to coordinate with the bronze a bit better, but I’d say go for Gloss Black vinyl rather than matte black plastidip or vinyl - just to keep the class of the LC. Also a cloudy day doesn’t do your LC justice, I say keep them!

There’s probably droves of Tundra guys ready to buy them off you if you really dislike them, but I think they’re fine. Down with fake beadlocks haha. For some other options FN Wheels does have some special order LC wheels if you contact them directly, they’re +25mm offset.

It was on sale in Fort Worth, TX a week or two ago! Awesome deal for whoever snagged it. IIRC it was a 39k miles 2016 black/terra for $62k.

Yep, I loved that I finally found someone running a very aggressive setup so I snagged the pictures off the site. Here you go:

Sorry for the pic dump in your thread @kromealt , but I feel like it's a helpful reference for the kind of aggressive setups our LC's are capable of with some modification. Note that he has taken off his front mud flaps and the little rectangle tab at the front of the liner. Again, it's 17x8.5+0 Method NV's on 285/75R17 Toyo Open Country's with an Icon lift. This is what motivated me to finally pull the trigger on some 17x8.5+0 on 285/70.

Hey guys, I jumped on this as soon as it hit the market, it was local to me and ticked almost all my boxes. It's sitting in the driveway now. I just started a build thread and have some pics of my rubbing as well as a couple pics down the side of the truck if those following this 0 offset topic are curious. 2016 LC Build - DFW TX

I'm no expert but I'm happy to share what I can observe on mine if it helps anyone. I haven't had a chance to check tuck however.

@kromealt, I'm enjoying your thread, the truck is looking great!

@kromealt Looks awesome! Good job! Working on a similar setup myself.

FYI: I also traded a 2018 Raptor for my LC200. Never looked back!

I have a very unexpected twist to this build thread....

Flying to Texas tomorrow and driving this one home - 2016 with 25k miles, White/Terra Interior which was my 2nd choice while shopping. I will be selling the 2017 Gray next week...

What madness is this? Well, I have a few reasons for the dumb decisions I make in life:
  • Apparently I prefer to start from a stock clean slate on builds so I know the history and I'm the reason for any wear/tear
  • The White one is in MUCH better shape and hasn't been off the road
  • The Gray one has more wear than I expected - I bought it sight unseen and wouldn't have if seller was more up front with the flaws
  • None of the mentioned flaws are major, there's just enough little things that leave a bad taste for me personally
  • I absolutely love and prefer Gray but pinstripes show like a sore thumb compared to White and the 2017 has a lot of them
  • Lastly, I didn't want to pump an excessive amount of mods/money into a vehicle I wasn't happy with
So yeah, this thread will take a twist with a clean slate. Once I get the white one home I will get to work on it right away and update this thread - I plan to move over most if not all of the mods from the 17. My only hangup is the BP-51's.

Crazy! Good to hear someone else is just as crazy as me!

Have you thought about Icon? I’m having Icon’s stage 2 installed today. One thing I liked about the Icon’s was you can add the reservoirs later if you decided to go that route.

I’ve had Icons on a Tundra in the past. I loved them!

Good luck with the new build! Love the white!

Yea, I'm very crazy with my vehicles - it's insane.

I am considering Icons and have never had before. I had Kings on my 4Runner and while they're all the rave I HATED them. I love the ride of BP-51s but have a couple other gripes with them which might take me another direction.

I’m going King’s this time because I’ve tried everything else. I’ve had Icon’s on a few vehicles, never again. I got tired of rebuilding shocks every six months as they puked their guts.

Kings need proper/custom valving otherwise they're very harsh.
Yep, in my case even with custom valving and changing the spring weight a couple times I was just never happy with King. I also blew up a coilover on 1st trip to moab.

Hear you, I've heard similar feedback elsewhere. So far ride quality wise, OME is my favorite out of King/Fox/OME so I might stick with it - adjusting the rears is stupid though and one could use a rebuild.

That's a bummer.
BPs were nice in my experience. Considering Icon for the breadvan this go around.

A lot of people run BP-51s on this forum without issues, possibly the most common setup on modified LCs. I would look hard at those and the Kings.

Home with the new rig, quite the difference in appearance between a stock truck. Going to miss the Gray, best color ever. Not in this pic but I moved over the roof rack, shortened the cross bars and removed steps from White today. Hopefully decide on suspension route soon...
