If I didn't have child care complications, I'd come down. Just out of curiousity, how much time would you need the lx to get it figured out?

^^Probably 8 or so hours

I sent you the Labrak light contact by email. He said it's 4.5" in depth. There is also a possibility of just using the turn signal if the whole assy does not fit.

I was thinking I could maybe come down in a few weeks to pick up the bumper, fit the light and fit the grill guard all at the same time for my LX. Let me get back to you later this week.

Thanks grundsethp, i have been in contact with labrak and we are trying to work out the details.

Got the bumper on the scale today. I'm pretty happy with the results. The bumper shell was 77 lbs the brackets were 4 lbs each and the full guard was 27 lbs.

So the original shop that said they would do the drawing, decided they didn't want to:(
So I found a shop a friend recommended 10 minutes away from my house. I took the bumper there and had a good feeling about the owners. They will do the drawing, cutting and bending in house and they even do powder-coating. Now just waiting for a quote. If I end up using this shop I will be offering powder-coating. They said I should hear back from them in the next day or two. Also iv been talking to labrak about there fog light/turn signal inserts. I think they would be a nice addition to the bumper and after talking with Shane they seem like a great company to work with. Will keep you guys posted.

Is this the same Shane as metricTLC? If so, read up on him, he's a huge flake and lots of folks have been having problems with him. If not, sorry.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll look into it.

@benc I dont know if this has already been answered, I grazed through the 16 pagees...

What does the DIY kit involve as far as finishing the bumper?

Ben, I was about to ask almost the same question! More like: have you had a chance to brainstorm the kit?

All the pieces will be cut and bent for the main bumper. The grill guard tubes will be bent and the ends will need to be cut and fitted.

Will there be any welding invoclved? I am a complete novice in terms of fabricating

Got word back from the shop I will be using. The good news is it's all in the works now. They are going to be drawing next week then they will cut one prototype. After that, I will have to take it home and tack weld it together and see if any changes need to be made, if all is good then they start production. The only problem is it is going to take them a couple weeks, so hopefully that won't put me to far behind schedule. I will definitely not be shipping out any this month. It looking like end of March if all goes well, the DIY kits may ship out a little sooner. Thanks for your understanding, and know I am doing my best to get these shipped out in time.

Also anyone els that may be interested in a bumper needs to let me know before I get the cutting done. Otherwise you will have to wait for another 10 orders or pay $200 more. I'm also going to start shopping for freight options now that I have the weights
