Ok, I'm at a loss. My vehicle won't pass inspection this month without front bumper turning blinker lights. Could Rigid D Series Pro amber flush mounted lights work as blinkers, or what is everyone doing? I love my bumper on my '02 LX470. Thanks!!

You can convert the side marker lights in to turn signals. The state of Texas requires safety indicators on the front of the vehicle. Do you have anything on the front of your LX at all to indicate you are turning? If not, that's a real No No. Not to mention a danger to other commuters.

You can definitely convert RIGID D Series Pro Amber lights in to a turn signal (dedicated) but they would be an awful expensive blinker, not to mention, they would be blinding any oncoming traffic. That in itself could get you a citation and some pi$$ed off commuters. I don't suggest using these lights as a turn signal.

Just go to OReilly's or Autozone and get yourself some magnetic or something that you can stick on and wire up to pass the inspection until you figure out a permanent solution.

If you do go LED for a turn signal, you'll also need to install a resistor to prevent hyper-flashing turn signals.

Thanks. How difficult is it to convert the side marker lights to turn signals?
I did this on my 2000 4Runner. I just swapped the light harnesses and ran extended wires from the blinker circuit ends to the side marker lights. Looked great when done. My blinkers were tiny and I hated that.

I simply snipped both of the bulb ends (leaving about 3" left), extended the blinker harness up to the side markers, soldered the bulb end on, and got some plastic electrical conduit to wrap the wires in (after taping the exposed solder points). Make sure you tape the conduit ends and wrap around the seam. Keeps moisture out.

EDIT: more after pics:

Enjoying my new bumper on winter trip to Moab. 15" LED bar on Bullbar and a Ramsey winch controller mounted on bumper.
Old bumper was an ARB, front is riding almost an inch higher, and ride is a little rougher so will be lowering front a bit to improve ride.
Ben makes a great product.

You can convert the park lights to pull double duty as signal lights also. I didn't want the LED blinkers on my Dissent so I did the conversion. See here:
What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

Can’t seem to find it but what is the appropriate torque for the frame bolts during install? Sorry if it’s a stupid question but I searched for a while and didn’t find it.

I just did that, and it works great! Now it's time to gets some REAL fog lights! Is there anything else needed (adapter etc.) for the Rigid D-Series Pro fog lights? Thanks!

I just made my own brackets to fit some D-Series fog lights in. They'll be a tight fit if you want them to protrude out the front of the bumper, but if you make a bracket sturdy enough with enough to accommodate the light an the allen head hardware that comes with them, then you can mount them within the bumper pretty well.

Woah, that’s perfect. Makes me wish I ordered the light cutouts.

Has anyone tried this mount to make the fog lights point more straight or is this not enough angle correction to make them forward facing?

Angled Flush Mount D-SERIES

I've seen a couple other guys run these before. I can say that they are not enough to get the light beam pointed straight ahead. If I remember correctly, the actual offset is 25 degrees.

I asked multiple times and Ben only offers powdercoating on local pickups or installs. Bumpers ship uncoated.

Bummer. I need to talk to a few local shops on what the price would be. Guessing around $300 including prep work... put's the config I'd want around 1600 without shipping. That's the same price as the Slee bluberry (less options, but no shuttling parts around to get them coated.)

This is a really stupid question but can someone tell me what connectors I need to buy so that I can plug my new LED's into the OEM harness for the fog lights? Is that even an option or do I have to cut into the harness? I looked through all 95 pages of this thread as well as the install instructions and didn't see it. I am in Ben's queue for a front bumper and trying to get all my ducks in a row ahead of time. I don't typically do electrical stuff but I can splice two wires together if I just knew which wires.

I'd also like to know the same question ^^^

Also, on the LX, is there a factory on/off switch somewhere on the dash for the oem foglights or do they just automatically come on with the headlights? I can't remember.
