Second, I purchased 3x3 LED fog lights to go into the bumper and because of the angle of the wings, the fog lights are essentially useless. Is there some way to aim these things better? Right now they just light up the trees WAY off the side of the road.

I think they're more for flood lights, but you can use angled mounts.

Awesome. I figured something like this was out there, I just haven’t took the time to search for anything. I’m going to pick a set of these up to try on my bumper.

Several thoughts on this so far. I got my bumper installed over the last couple of weekends. I absolutely could not fit a Smittybuilt x20 10k winch control box on the stock mounting position on the winch inside the bumper. I had to remove the control box mounting brackets and then "mount" it off to the side, but still inside the bumper by zip tying it to of the vertical interior reinforcement pieces. Not happy with the mounting configuration but it's the best I could do.

Lastly, the clearance on my front bumper is not as tight as I thought it would be to the frame, and I'm not sure how to improve it. I don't want the front of the bumper to tilt up because the clearance would be less at the grill and more at the fender. I don't want it to shift down because it will make the gap worse. What it needs to do is shift straight UP all across the bumper from wing to wing, because the gap at the front is big enough where you can see old metal below the grill and headlights. But there isn't any way I cash see to do that because of the way the bumper mounts to the frame.
Unfortunately all winch control boxes are different, it not feasible to off a relocation bracket for every winch model. As for the fog lights, the angled lights are meant to complement center mount lights, not to be used as a fog.
You loose the function of a fog light due to the height. A fog light has to be mounted as low to the ground as possible to work as a true fog light.
Most guys are running either a light bar or 9" lights on top of the center section, the angle of the 3x3 lights will complement the center lights nicely.
A forward projection 3x3 light will be obsolete when center lights are added.
For the body gap you need at least 3/8-1/2" gap to prevent contact with the body off road. Some of the bumper you may see with extremely tight body gaps is not the correct way to do things.
The body move independently of the frame so the clearance is a must.
Flex out the suspension of the truck and you will see what I mean. If it really bothers you you can install a bulb seal on the bumper to cover the gap. Also painting the under grill support black can help as well.

Speaking of the 3x3 lights, does anyone have any experience installing Baja Designs squadron lights instead of Rigid Industries lights? i know ben has them drilled for Rigid, but i'd rather install Baja if i can. my concern is the spacing of the opening to the top edge of the bumper. I realised this after getting the bumper, so i might have to go with rigid anyway.

Unfortunately Baja designs uses a totally different style cut out than any of the other lights. They will not fit cleanly in the cutouts. Sorry

Thanks for the great bumpers Ben! The wait was long, but well worth it as I'm beyond impressed with the quality of these bumpers. I went for the classic black on white look for my 03 LX. Installed a Smittybilt X20 12k winch w/ synthetic line, cheapo 3" LED light kit tied into fog light switch, and amber LED lights wired in conjunction with the turn signals (moved to side marker dual filament bulbs).

TODO on the front: adjust the fitment ever so slightly, remove the plastic around the washer receiver, adjust AHC/ Tbars to compensate for added weight, and install a factor55 link instead of the hook. I'm still considering a 20" front light bar front and center. Furthermore I need to add the Dissent tags, they missed powder coating.

Because New Mexico is epic, I immediately went and got the hundy in fresh alpine snow, and then followed it up with a wheeling trip in the desert the following day. The bumpers look great clean or dirty :)

Here’s how I mount my X20 10k smittybuilt winch, I made a little bracket and use existing factory bolt that holds the AC line.
The control box seat perfectly almost on top left side of the winch.

Are you by chance up around Huntington Lake, Ward Lake or that neck of the Sierras? Looks kind of familiar to where we (my family and my wife's extended family) goes camping. We'd race Hobie Cats on Huntington Lake every Summer that the Fresno Hobie Cat Fleet would sponsor.

I’m free I’m the Bay Area but i usually go to Sierra and Tahoe area for some dirt run.

Any limitations or concerns I should know about when using the shackle attachments up front for recovery? I've removed the old recovery hook and loop so up front they're all I have.

How is everyone mounting their winch control box? I installed my 10K X20 and I've got it resting off to the passenger side of the winch now behind the bumper since I couldn't make the factory winch mounts work. I'm thinking about fabing up a mount to use the radiator core support or some other existing hardware to incorporate mine in to. Just looking for some ideas......

Your LX looks awesome, did you go with aluminum or steel? also, what are the yellow running lights in the grill? I am thinking about going with something like this for my set up
