Why? Are people seeing widespread issues?
I did seal the wire entry point on mine with clear rtv prior to install, and haven't had any issues.

It takes some experimenting with position of the spare but you can get the Jack mounted higher so it doesn’t hit or block the latch:
I'm good with that but I have some rubbing on the tailgate and bumper. There is a rub line.

Bummer indeed. This has been reported by other users and seems to be related to the bumper not sitting flush with the hitch receiver (as far forward as possible) or weakend/stretched rubber tailgate retention straps.
Dissent rear bumper lower tailgate contact?
Have others with a dissent resr bumper noticed any contact with the lower tailgate? I saw a line in the road dust, so I cleaned it up and put a strip of blue painters tape to see if I could replicate it. I've been in and out a lot, installing a fridge slide, so probably more use than would be...

Most likely stretched cables
Did any of you run into interference between the rear passenger wing and the rear frame corner (red circle)? I am in the middle of my install and have to cheat the bumper a few mm off the centerline toward the passenger side to get a tiny gap. This also allows the lower part of the passenger wing to stay flush with the frame supports and not flare out to the rear (red arrow).

I don’t recall having issues there, but I’m also not surprised. There seems to be variances with the frame to body relationship.
What are you using as your center line?
Instead of a center line, try comparing the poke left to right.
I was eyeballing the center of the hitch receiver and comparing to the middle of the camera relocation mount. I was also looking at the symmetry of the lower gaps (pictured).
It's not perfectly centered on my vehicle but I have fiddled with it enough to be close enough (within 2mm) that only I'd be able to tell and honestly it doesn't really bother me.
@radman what do you mean by 'poke'?

Yep, mine hits the lower tailgate too. Dissent told me to make sure it is pushed tight against the crossmember. Piss poor solution if you ask me. They should modify the top part of the center section by a couple of mm so it won't hit (and send owners that have this issue a replacement).

Amount of stick out from the sides. You won’t have your plastic skins on, so you can use reference points from the body.
Thank you. I just noticed in the attached pics, did you cut the stock mudflaps to cover the gap created by the rear bumper?
As far as we have been able to tell this is caused by the bumper not being pushed forward enough against the hitch/rear cross member, which is the correct installation method.
If you feel that this still happens on your bumper despite being pushed all the way forward please send us some photos, one from down low showing the gap from the hitch to the inside of the bumper, and another showing the gap between the tailgate (closed) and the bumper. sales (at) dissentoffroad.com
