Where is the best place to purchase a 1 to 2 inch dimple die? The ones that have bolts that you tighten down. i'd like to have a tool like this for metal forming and fabbing.

What's the easiest way to broach 0.25" steel for carriage bolts?

Any tooling that you guys have made or used would be much appreciated. I wouldn't want to spend more than $60 to $100 per piece of tooling. Is this possible or am I dreaming?

MSC Direct or Enco should have the broaches you're looking for but you'll need a small press to use them.

I want something I can do in the garage without a press if possible.

MSC and ENCO sell those too. They're called files! ;)

My coworker suggested the "file" solution for broaching but I don't see how files can be used for making dimples...

There are bolt together dimple dies.. But they do take a heck of a lot of force..

Do you have a source for these bolted dimple dies...? I can't find any online.

You will have a hard time dimpling metal of any thickness without a press. I have a set of dimple dies that range from 3/4" to 3" and they all require a significant amount of force to deform the sheetmetal.

Maybe i can find a cheap hyd press for the garage... :(

Did you guys ever find any? Van Sant has them also.

I didn't find any that would work well without a press. I am going to wait until I move into my own house and can get a press. Then I will look on from there.

Please post examples once you start using it. I won't be investing in this equipment for some time.

What was wrong with the Denuzio units?

They look good. I guess the price is still holding me back. No money for those toys as my current investment is SOA.

That is what sucks about dimple dies, They are super expensive for some pieces of steel..

I am suprised that China has not jumped on the bandwagon for them..
