i'm interested for sure. I had thought about getting pipe caps from ferguson's and cutting them. I thought of that because mostly that's what these diff covers are anyways.

Im having a hard time paying over $65 for a pipe cap that costs like $15.

i'll get a picture up tommorrow of some of the ones that i've build, i personally don't like the design of the pipe cap because that thing is like a bucket is really hard to clean out if you fill it up with dirt or whatever else.

80 front Diff Gaurd

Here are some pictures of what I built for myself a few of the guys i ride with use and really like. Its cleans out pretty easy unlike the caps and has kept my diff dent free for a few years now. I haven't done one for my 80 yet, but i plan on it after i get a lift. If there are a few people interested i'll go ahead and get a prototype ready and take a few more picture. So anybody interested?

I think trailgear has a diff cap that can be used front and rear on the 80, it is cheap too, $25 bones.....

The small Trail Gear one is similar to the one Marlin had, but the ones that I have seen went all of the way to the edges of the cover? The cover is very thin and I would want it to weld at the cover edges for support, the Trail Gear just covers the center.

The bigger armors for the mini axles may need to be cut, modified to clear the panhard?

Trail-Gear Inc > Trail Armor

TG pandhard clearance

I dont have a picture at the moment, but I did not need to modify the TG diff protection that Tools linked. it went on with a bit of grinding to make it fit how I liked. well worth the money in my book.

i was looking at the trailgear one. It also comes with the drain plug which is sweet.

I have one almost exactly like that. i cut off the top half of the ring (not needed) and welded the bottom cage part on
I like it but forgot where I bought it

What will these go for?

$25 plus shipping seems pretty reasonable. Maybe cheaper if there are enough people interested in them.

Ya you don't need the whole ring i just like to spread the load out on the entire housing.

These things are tough, I only run a 33 so its been put through alot.

how is it fastened? Is it welded to the ring?

i might be in for that.

For my diff protection I went with trail gear. Although it was a little small, some minor modifications made it fit. I am very happy with them and they are tough. Got them for front and rear, here are some pics.

Millatruse, got any close shots of those? We all know your rig is hot but we wanna see the damn protectors :)

WyattT whats the update on those? Please pm me if your making them!

I like the Marlin piece but its almost 3X as much as the TG! Unless that $70 is for a pair because in the pic there are two diff plugs..?

Sorry Guys I've been a little Tied up. About a week after my last post I broke my right leg  :censor::censor: and haven't been in the shop since.

On the brite side I'm in a walking fracture boot now and as soon as i can find a way to protect it and my exposed toes from welding sparks and falling tools I will be back to work in a hurry. I think i'll be able to cram my foot with a brace into a real boot next week.

Hey Wyatt, you got any of those ready? I got some big wheeling trips coming up and need to purchase some. Id like to help out a mudder and buy from you first. LMK please
