Thanks, JLee. Mine doesn't quite hug the plastic on the side like yours. It doesn't affect anything beyond aesthetics but I may just take a heat gun to it and try to make it conform.

There are different part numbers for Weathertech mats, depending on if you have rear seat entertainment. Apparently there's a wiring harness bundle that makes the passenger floor mats different.

A few shots of the still stock 120...

A few more bolt on mods. Just got these in from Hawaii...
IMG_3150.JPG
They are a bit expensive but the quality is exceptional. They should keep the bolsters in good shape for a few more years. They also have a decent amount of padding which makes the seats more comfortable...

yes, but they last, this is after 5 years in my S2000, driven daily. I had the car for another 2 years and a told of 175K miles (over 150K on the covers), the covers still looked like new, very little fading.

Those look nice. $295 is steeep though
True, but I've tried the save a buck approach with a lot of gear. Finally it sunk in that if you want nice stuff most of the time you just have to pay for it. These are one of the items where you drop good coin yet have no buyers remorse once you see the finished product. Similar to everything I've purchased from Slee over the years !

Wow, that blue interior is so incredibly in your face, so ridiculous, I think I actually want one ! Are these things still competitive in SCCA or supplanted by the new Toyota RWD ?

I know some people still run them in SCCA or NASA. I only drove mine on the street and at HSDE, never really could afford the racing part.

The first of the big ticket mods showed up today. 265/70/r17 Kumho MT51's

I also stopped by the powder coaters and picked up the wheels done in satin black. Like most people I don't like the factory GX wheels, the painted aluminum just looks cheap on these vehicles. I also don't like the thinner spoke aftermarket wheels as they just look a bit off to me. I was looking at a friend of mines Tacoma and kept thinking that the big face of those factory wheels would look good paired with the large side profile of the GX.

I'm hoping this will make for a nice looking combination.

Are you running spacers with those wheels?

I had a little down time the other day and decided the GX needed a receiver for an upcoming trip. I think the last time I checked from Toyota they wanted almost $200 for one. Yeah right ! A quick trip to the hardware store netted this ......

On my last trip out we had two 120's in the group with mild lifts and stock rear bumpers. I was rather impressed by how much damage they avoided just by dragging there hitches on departure rather than the rear bumper. Hopefully this will do the same as well as give us the option if I decide to build a trailer.

Nice rig, keep it up! What is the name of the scan tool/computer on the phone above? Is it showing tranny temp?

Thank you. That is the ScanGauge II , they were on sale on amazon for half price the other day so I grabbed one. That picture doesn't show the trans temp but yes, it will show it if you know the code to program it with. The code is in this thread Scangauge for transmission temperature here you go !

Tackled the brakes today 124,982mi. The front rotors were quite warped and causing a lot of wheel shaking on deceleration. Unfortuneatley when I pulled the PS pads I found this ....
IMG_3533.JPG

That's some pretty uneven wear. The inside pistons didn't look that great, and, while I was able to get them to push back with the clamp, they were quite a bit less mobile than the outer two. I was quite surprised that my local NAPA had a set of front calipers in stock...
IMG_3532.JPG
After loading them up with PowerStop evolution Z something or another pads I bolted them back over a set of PowerStop slotted/drilled front and rear rotors....
IMG_3535.JPG
I used the power bleeder and a half bottle of Pentosin to get the air and old fluid out of the fronts. Now I just need to take it out in the early AM and get everything bedded proper.

How hard is it to work on the brakes? I've never replaced brakes on a car or truck before. Do you think it's possible for a newbie to do it? I would probably download and follow the repair manual pdfs. Is it worth it to get all the equipment I would need to be able to start working on my GX at home?
